Just watching some On Demand highlights...yeah to Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland for winning the 10K Classic Cross Country Skiing on a broken foot and by 19 seconds.

I hadn't heard that, but Tara and Johnny both talked during the various events about watching people in practice. And the practices were available on the live stream. According to Sochi Olympics figure skating: The joys of NBC's raw, secret, unscripted, boring figure skating practice cam., "...viewers have consumed more than 1.3 million minutes--21,666 hours--of practice cam."

Still watching the Closing Ceremonies on the DVR ... up to the South Korean part. Have to admit the stage effects must be absolutely marvelous when you are in the stadium. It does help when you are listening on TV having someone explain some of the parts like blue and gold are the colors of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg while red and gold are the colors of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow.

Bolshoi Theatre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At that time, all Russian theatres were imperial property. Moscow and St. Petersburg each had only two theatres, one intended for opera and ballet (these were known as the Bolshoi Theatres), and one for plays (tragedies and comedies). Because opera and ballet were considered nobler than drama, the opera houses were named "Grand Theatres" ("Bolshoi" is Russian for "large" or "grand") and the drama theatres were called the "Smaller Theatre" ("Maly" is Russian for "small", "lesser", or "little").

Finished watching the Closing Ceremonies and found it quite iconic listening to the speech by the Mayor of Sochi calling for peace in the world just at Russia is invading the Crimea.

Outside of that the Closing Ceremonies were impressive especially the light technology, the hanging icicles the floor that they light up with projections. Luv'ed the tear of Mischa the Bear after he blew out the Olympic Flame.
