Congratulations, Coach Paterno I have to think that the record for wins is now unbeatable, other than by JoePa extending it.

I guess I haven't updated the rankings for awhile, eh? I guess I will do that when I get a sec.

Coach Paterno is pretty much a figurehead at this point. He can't even coach from the field anymore. But he is certainly a legend. Congrats on 409 JoePa!!

Damn. Of all the ways for the story and the legend to end . . .

It's sad. But it's even more tragic for those 8 kids. It's looking like 5 people knew but did nothing to help them. That's the tragedy. Paterno wrote his own ending. He could have written it differently, but he didn't.
I don't feel badly for him. I feel terrible for the child victims. And I feel sorry for his team. Him, not so much.

The Oregon Ducks beat UCLA for the Pac 12 championship and while they fell too far in the rankings for another go at the national title, they are headed to the Rose Bowl to face either Wisconsin or Michigan. A truly satisfying year.

    Re: College Football 2011

The Pac 8/10 and now 12 has always been dominated by USC, UCLA and Stanford. It is such a joy that Oregon is FINALLY making a mark. It was a thrilling game to watch, and while Stanford lost the Fiesta bowl in overtime, it looked similar to the Oregon/Wisconsin game even to the line judge calls. Weird.
