    NHL Hockey - 2011-2012

64 days and counting to the opening game!

Daniel Paille (Boston Bruins) arrived in my city last week with the Stanley Cup. (To bad it was the wrong team )

There was a special ceremony at City Hall, Stanley then went to the local arena for the afternoon, so kids could see it and take pictures, from there, Stanely went on a ride on the Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls Ontario!

Why isn't the cup wearing a protective raincoat too?

    Thanks for posting!

63 days for Sean Avery to get out of jail. Looking forward to the season, but not just yet because season starting means winter's coming.

football chick: that was the local joke in the media, wondering why Stanley didn't have his raincoat on!

canadian_angel: I know what you mean, I can already see the days getting shorter, I'm dreading winter. Summer is far to short. Lets hope it snows Xmas day (for the kids, I could do without it permantly)! and that's it! I'd be in heaven!

ETA: I forgot about Sean Avery! I just googled to see what ever happened, on Aug 18th there was an update, all charges have been dropped. It seems the police officer got his foot caught in the door, and was never "pushed".

What a sad string of deaths. Loved Rick Rypien when he played here. Sad to hear of his passing.

I specifically didn't want to respond to your post the other day when I read your post, canadian_angel because my first thought was everything comes in three's. Sadly, this is the 3rd one. He was in Toronto filming Battle of the Blades. He was one of the hockey players.

Anxious for the season to start, not anxious for winter.

I, too, was waiting with bated breath to see what would happen. I, sadly, wonder though what will be to come. Three deaths and all three had pretty strong ties to Saskatchewan. A lot of people here are taking all three deaths hard.

What a sad summer for Hockey. To lose almost an entire team?! So sad to hear about the plane crash.

That was gut wrenching. How very sad. The lone hockey player survivor ended up loosing his life from his injuries as well. I was reading an article, on how they wanted to rebuild the team to play and how they were filling the spots, one player from each of the other teams will make up the new team. Heartbreaking, makes you wonder why do things like this happen.
