Anyone watching INDIAN WELLS?
Looks like there's a chance we could see a Rafa vs Roger quarterfinal.
Rafa defeated Gulbis (barely) and Federer beat Wawrinka (barely) so the two WILL meet in the quarterfinals.
Watched Rafa's match last night, staying up well past midnight to see the end. Now, it might have been the lateness of the hour, but if I heard correctly, the announcer is looking none-too-bright in my bloodshot eyes.
At one point, Gulbis - after missing a shot - punches his own racket . . . hard! This causes an "injury" to his hand. Noting the blood dripping from his knuckles, announcer guy comments that punching your racket isn't a smart thing to do (especially when it's the hand that holds the racket) because . . . . . . . . . .
""those strings are made of artificial hard stuff"
Wow! Thanks for clarifying that!
The RAFA vs ROGER quarterfinal is starting NOW. On the east coast, wondering if I can make it to the end. Eyes are droopy already.
The match went pretty quickly, so I was able to watch the whole thing. LOVED IT!
Hating Justin Gimelstob right now. All that talk about how Roger was "physically compromised". Give me a break. Rafa just gets back from not playing for - what was it . . . 9 months, due to injuries - and it's Fed who's health is in question? And then that smart-a$$ remark at the end when he says "some matches don't live up to the hype". So what . . . . because Rafa won it wasn't good enough?
Men's single scores from Saturday:
Rafa Nadal defeats Tomas Berdych 6-4 7-5
and
J M DelPotro defeats Novak Djokovic 4-6 6-4 6-4 :omg
I'll be watching the final, cheering for Rafa
Of course I love Rafa, but glad to see Del Potro in there!
Just to update this thread, in case anyone missed it . . . . Rafa won!
Next tennis matches are in Miami
