My issue is that the neck is just not what it used to be, before the surgery. I'm not in favor of of him endangering his health. If he would never get hit, I'd have no problem with it.

I understand that Peyton has been cleared by doctors to play again, however, I really question the wisdom in this. The man can have a career in football for the rest of his life without ever taking the field again. I know that he loves the game, but sometimes you simply have to weigh the wisdom of taking the risk. There are enough risk inherent to the game without any contributing factors, and Peyton certainly has contributing factors. I suppose we can't/shouldn't live our lives in fear, but wisdom is a wonderful thing. Hopefully he has a lot of really, really wise advisers and has truly weighed the risk, and those risk aren't as imposing as they have been. He truly is a mad talented football player, but sometimes it takes more guts to take a knee, so to speak. He has babies with whom he will probably want to rough and tumble.

I fully agree. I appreciate the way you put that. I don't think we ever substitute somebody else's judgment for our own......whatever that may be. His decision is his own. I think he's had enough years of being a successful, talented "dancing bear" for the entertainment of others.

There are - reportedly - at least a dozen teams thinking of putting #18 back to work. Although I can't find the actual quote, at one time Peyton said he did NOT want to play for an NFC team. Guess there is that whole Little Brother thing to consider.

Teams listed in the article (not all twelve were named) are: Broncos, Chiefs, Dolphins, Jets and Titans (AFC teams) and the Cardinals, Redskins and Seahawks (NFC)

In my area, the 'Skins are the "local" team. They need all the help they can get. It would be nice to hear something other than how badly the sucked on any particular Sunday.l

Peyton is heading to Denver. See ya, Tebow.

Ahhh, the 49ers lost out in the lottery, then. Now, if they don't lose Jeff to the Dolphins...or if they do, who will they try to capture?

If anyone in Denver has a brain, they'll keep Tebow. Make him second string (again) and save him for WHEN Manning is hurt and unable to play. WHEN . . . . not IF. It's only a matter of time.

I'm kind of surprised... thought he would end up in SF or Tennessee...

Good move for Peyton. He's in a weak division where he should be able to make the playoffs each season with no trouble.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.
