    Oh yeah! Party at Eva's!

I could see Luc going back to LA, again. To Colorado, well, I'd love to have him but he'd be going to the enemy. Of course the other enemy dumped him and he'd give good insight, so hmmm.

Totally .... One of the reasons Toronto lost was that Hitchcock knew Eddie so well.

I think Lucky would rather just go back and finish out his career in LA though.

Yeah me too, he's always an LA King in my mind so I'd rather not remember him as a Wing. Plus Colorado has issues they need to sort out.

    Yes.

Wow I have stumbled upon the anti-Wings message board!

Was the first round sweep by the Ducks shameful? Embarassing? Comical?

    Yes.

    All of the above.

But I stick with my teams through thick and thin.

I have to admit that the Wings loss was a total downer, and the 'Lanche breakdown left a foul taste in my mouth, but the cruel fashion in which the Canucks lost really broke my heart.

I guess I have grown to expect success from the Wings and Avalanche over recent years, so I can take solace in the fact that they've done it before and will likely do it again.

But to see my hometown team climb from depths to reach such great heights during the course of the last decade... only to have it all come undone... it was very hard to stomache.

All in all, the agony of defeat has never been so comprehensive for me in one hockey post-season.

I've said this before, could the Canucks BE more like the Senators of a year or two ago?

    Goalie
Sens - Patrick Lalime, young French goalie, unproven in the playoffs.
Nucks- Dan Cloutier, young French goalie, unproven in the playoffs.

    Captain
Sens- Swedish Daniel Alfredsson who used to do a disappearing act come playoffs
Nucks- Markus Naslund, who does a disappearing act come playoffs.

    2nd Round Series
Sens- Blew a 3-2 lead in the series and a 2-0 lead in an elimination game
Nucks- Blew a 3-1 lead in the series and a 2-0 lead in the eliminaton game

Like, the teams are very, very similar. The Canucks WILL have success, assuming the league doesnt lock out forever. Since they will, sorry I guess. I would have loved to see the Canucks win.

I love the Avs, but don't hold your breath for them to start doing better if St Patty calls it a career.

    Nice comparo...

I'd agree in many ways save for two main exceptions:

    - Naslund actually did show up for most of the playoffs, and was instrumental in the comeback against the Blues... but the switch went off again against Minny, and worse than that he became a big-time defensive liability.

    - At first glance the teams are similar but taking a closer look, the Canucks are a HUGE, strong, hard-hitting team... much more so than the Ottawa team in question ever was. Usually, the combination of bruising size and magnificent skill would ensure a trip deep into the playoffs, but the Canucks fell apart due to poor goaltending and poor defensive play... attributable to an overall lack of heart.

Cloutier's really taking a beating in the media and with the public opinion here... I'm not sure if it'd be in his nor the team's best interests to return next year.

    But we'll see.

The lockout is going to be killer!
