The KU athletic dept. is getting all members of the band some warmup gear. My son is so excited. Plus they get to fly with the team on a private charter to San Antonio tomorrow. This kid is floating on cloud 9 lol. We actually like their matchups left and think they have a pretty good chance for final 4.
Can you believe it? :wow Final Four!!
VCU vs Butler and Kentucky vs UConn
This is why I love and hate march madness. On one hand these guys survived and it was fun watching..but are they really the best 4 teams in the country? As someone who follows this sport very closely I can say that only UConn can make a case for this position (based on their numbers, key wins, strength of schedule, conference, talent, etc...) when there are other teams with far more talent, etc... Im not sure if I like the format, but I suppose it is better than college football where only two teams get to compete for the title, especially when there are almost always 4 or 5 who really deserve to play....then again, with the national championship game of the bcs bowl you are usually getting 2 of the top 5 teams in the country instead of a team that has lost 20% of their games over the course of the season and played in a crap conference. Like I said, this is why I love and hate march madness--its wild and unpredictable!
Well, there may be some truth to Grown-up vs. kiddie's, however, Butler is headed to Final 4 for 2nd year in a row. Kind of puts to rest idea that they are Cinderella. They are good and they have an amazing coach. I will be pulling for Butler. I hope the Kiddie table takes down the grown-up table in this one regardless. I think the field may be a bit more even on any given day than most people would think and I think that is part of what played into the way things have played out this year. Yes, there will be things that they have to overcome, but they have proven they can. I will be pulling for Butler or VCU regardless of their odds!
Would have made this an edit instead of a second post, but I waited too long.
Meant to add that I nearly always choose the underdog when I do not have a horse in the race. Sometimes that doesn't hold true, but usually it does.
