Bring back the Jets.
I haven't heard anything else about the Jets, since the Coyotes B/rutcy. I have been hearing rumblings of Quebec Nordiques.
What's with 6 teams opening in Europe?? I love that the head of the International Ice Hockey Association, basically told the NHL to stay the H*ll out of Europe!![]()
The only thing I dislike about hockey, is Gary Bettman.
Finally the puck drops tonight!
NHL Face-Off festival coming to Toronto
NHL Face-Off is the league's annual season-opening event and this year the celebration comes to Dundas Square in downtown Toronto on Thursday, Oct. 7.
From noon until the conclusion of the Montreal Canadiens-Toronto Maple Leafs game (airing live on CBC, and streamed live on CBCSports.ca starting at 7 pm ET) the NHL will treat fans at Dundas Square to live musical performances, interactive attractions that test hockey skills, and prizes and giveaways, including a trip to the 2011 NHL Heritage Classic.
CBC's Hockey Night in Canada will broadcast live from the event throughout the day, including portions of CBC's pre-game show, Scotiabank Hockey Tonight, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Great job CBC on the season opener for Toronto! What a great pre game. Congrat's Toronto fans, what a nice way to start the season! I loved the tribute to the oldtimers from each province, well done.
Although my team didn't win, it was a good game.![]()
Fantastic game, definitely, despite the result.
Good effort by most of the team, and it's pretty reassuring to see them perform well even without Cammy, Hamrlik, and Markov.
And then that fantastic game was followed by another fantastic game! The Oilers may not win a lot of games, but they look to be an entertaining team to watch.
Eberle's goal was a beaut, too.
Feels good to have NHL hockey back.![]()
Is that a pretzel Hab??Oh I just read your Pretzel Habitant!
ETA: I have to wait till Battle of the Blades is over, and then I'll replace Patrice with my Habs Avi.![]()
October 9, 1970 - Canucks played their first NHL game against the LA Kings and unfortunately lost, 3-1. Tonight, 40 years later to the day, we will kick their butts!! Go Canucks! Happy 40th Anniversary!![]()
Happy 40th Canucks!

No one's watching hockey?
World Juniors starting this weekend.
Lot of surprises so far this season...including New Jersey being so bad & firing their coach 2 days before Christmas.
Anyone been watching the HBO series on the Caps & Pens. It's a great behind the scenes look at the 2 teams. (including footage of the Caps' 8 game losing streak)
