Me too! I didn't get a chance to watch but I was extremely surprised to see the headline that he lost.

I'm still in disbelief! It seems like Fed will tie Sampras' record now although there is a small chance that a clay court player could beat him.

This may be the only time in history that I sort of want Federer to win. Well, I'd rather it be Roddick for the same reason, but think Federer has a better chance. Both Pete Sampras and Tiger Woods had to deal with all sort of "has marriage killed is drive to win?" chatter when they did not win championships immediately after getting married, and most of that criticism was unfairly lobbed at their wives. For Bridget Sampras and Ellin Woods sakes, I'm kind of hoping that Federer and Roddick win all three of the remaining majors this year just to illustrate the absurdity of the marriage curse.

I was shocked that Serena Williams lost today. I root for her and her sister.

He is now, he wasn't when I wrote that post.

Hi, ilovefootball. Shocked about Serena too. She and Venus are my faves on the women's tour too. Venus/Serena are also out in the doubles and James Blake went out in the 1st round and A-Rod in the 4th, I think.

I'll check to see if the Bryan brothers are still in it. If not, all the American players are out. We need more slow clay courts in the US, I think. We tend to not do well at the French, but this year seems to have been a particularly rough one.

The Bryans are out. They got knocked out in the semis.
