Maybe you can make him his own gold medal and tell him he won the Olympic Coach Potato competition. ![]() ETA: Yeah, I am disappointed the games are ending, but I've got the DNC to watch and after that college football starts next Sat.

| Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China well the games are over. Overall, China deserves some recognition for effort and trying to make this the best games ever. I am really tired of the chinese critics from the west, especially the Britishs!!!. They did what they had to do. And that closing was equally awesome as the opening, saw it in an intl channel. The London introduction was quiet lame but i am sure they are not even thinking of topping the chinese. my favorite atheletes of this olympic, of course Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt and Ara (the swidish guy). |

| Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China I love the bird's nest and the water cube. I think China did a great job. I'm watching the water polo. USA is battling Hungary for a Gold. What a tough sport. Although I wish they explained the fouls a bit and the rules for those of us who are novices in the sport.

| Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China I'm watching the last events of the Olympics right now. The Beijing Olympics were the very first I've watched religiously. I've watched a couple other Olympics in the past, but just occasionally. I never really grew attached to them. But with this year, I made an effort to watch every event I could, and I must say that I've enjoyed pretty much every event I've watched. So I'm sad that they're almost over, but happy that I can pay attention to other things in my life other than these games. ![]() In the West Coast, NBC just aired a segment that summed up the track & field events in this Olympiad. There were those events that I couldn't bear to watch again (Lolo Jones's loss in the hurdles, it's just so heartbreaking to me), but then there are those I can't get enough of (Shalane's bronze victory in the 10,000 m, the second medal for the US in that event). Here's a nice little article about the final medal stands. It was an enjoyable read, I thought. It's nice to see some countries get their first medals ever. Quote:
And here's the final medal count. I screencapped it from Yahoo! Sports. ![]()
