If the 2016 games are in Chicago, all the FoRTers can stay at my house! Whoo hoo!!!Amy Lee will be divorced from Wentworth Miller by then and married to Michael Phelps, so they can have the honeymoon suite (aka our guest room).
FireWoman, is your daughter dreaming of competing in the Olympics in tae kwon do? I LOVE tae kwon do!
Just saw Bolt win the 200m. Wow--broke Michael Johnson's record. That's pretty amazing. I love how he said that he didn't think anyone could break Johnson's record. That was a nice moment. You know, when he won the 100m, his posturing kind of annoyed me. But I find him really entertaining now! He's just funny!
I'm already starting to freak out a little bit that in a few days, I won't have any more Olympics to watch.
I'm like MRD, I'm glad there's only two more years until the Winter Olympics. Waiting four years is just too hard!!!

I can make a mean lasagna which is great for crowds and Michael Phelps overwhelming appetite, lol!Originally Posted by Ellen;3170925;

For those wondering, I heard on one of the NBC's today that Phelps has left Beijing and is off to London, for the passing of the torch ceremony at the end of the games.
I can't wait to watch the BMX bike racing. My siblings and cousins use to race them when they were 10-13, and the girl my sister use to always race is the only American female competing for them.
We were in North Carolina for 10 days, and my family down there just didn't understand why we were so interested in it watching the Olympics.
Pink Elephants on Parade!
How come the 15- and 16-year-old Chinese women divers LOOKED 15 and 16 and their gymnasts didn't!?!?!?
Oh, that's right, the girls diving are actually 15 and 16. The gymnasts aren't! No one can convince me that they were 15 or 16 years old.

Lois, i know you mean well but damn.He and i aren't even married yet.

It was so sad to hear of Ron's mom's passing. It is unfortunate he will not be able to complete his stay from Beijing and he is such an incredible broadcaster. It will be odd to watch somebody else do the final comments. May his mom rest in peace.
Ron MacLean leaving CBC's Beijing broadcast
CBC Sports Ron MacLean is leaving his post as the main anchor for CBC's coverage of the Beijing Olympics following the death of his mother from pancreatic cancer on Wednesday night.
After signing off from Wednesday's edition of the Olympic Prime broadcast, MacLean was to return to his home in Oakville, Ont., to be with his family.
MacLean, 48, will stay in Canada for the remainder of the Games, which conclude Sunday.
"I'm probably in that bubble of denial that you get in when you're involved in television, but the truth of the matter is I gave her all I had all my life so there's no harm in not having been there for the final moments," MacLean said near the end of Wednesday's broadcast.
Scott Russell will take over hosting duties for Olympic Prime (6 p.m. to midnight ET), while Diana Swain will go solo on Olympic Morning (6 a.m. to noon ET). Ian Hanomansing will continue to host Pacific Prime (midnight to 3 a.m. ET).
"The ship's on its way, it's got a comfortable lead, and nobody better to steer [than Russell]," said MacLean.
