| Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China Until this Olympics, he's made about $5 million/year in endorsements for Speedo, Omega etc. Business analysts are estimating that he will be making money on par with Tiger Woods in terms of endorsements and expect his $5 million to go up to $40 million. Rumor has it that Nike wants to woo him away from Speedo to jumpstart their swim brand--and they're willing to pay big bucks to get him. There's going to be a bidding war. |

| Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China He certainly does have a golden future! He and the Men's relay are the big story of the Olympics. But I have gotten hooked into several other stories as well. Dara Torres is awe inspiring. Gets a golden medal in good sportsmanship. Shawn Johnson has a smile that lights up the stadium. I have been cheering her on whether it is taped or live. Gymnastics has had heart break and triumps. My heart goes out to Alicia Sacramone. (hope I spelled that right) Misty May and Kerri have been just awesome! Even sick they dominate good teams. It also has been really neat to see some athletes win the first medal ever for their countries. How great that must feel. Even watching some of the people who falter but continue on has been very inspiring. Lots of great stories at this years games.

| Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China Shaun Johnson wins the Gold in balance beam! YAYAYAYAY! The camera cut away to her parents, both bawling when they realized she won the Gold! So sweet! Nastia gets the silver! To top it all off, Johnathan Horton wins Silver in horizontal bar! It was a tough road but a great showing all around for the USA Gymnastics team! Bravo!!! ![]() |

| Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China I'm rooting for Chicago -- mainly because my cousins [in Milwaukee and Chicago] who own businesses would definitely benefit from the increased tourism! Go, ChiTown!

| Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China I am just the opposite. I am rooting for Shawn all the way. Nastia bugs me. She always has a "bitch" face on. It doesn't matter when they show her. The only smile I have ever seen on her face was when they were actually giving her a medal.

| Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China That is her game face. She there to compete and win. She is tuning out the audience and concentrating on what she has to do. All the gymnasts do it.

| Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China The only time I've seen her with a 'bitch' face on, is when she was cheated out of a gold medal for uneven bars because of the IOC's stupid rules regarding ties in gymnastics. However, I'm sure anyone would look majorly pissed off if they were subjected to that. ![]() |
