Yeah, but the point is he could have come in sooner. I just hate to see Terrell Owens-like hotdogging in the Games.

Yeah, I was actually yelling at the screen..."WTF buddy, Keep running"... He'll break that record again at some point. I can't believe how fast he is, and how easy he makes it look.

And his shoe was untied as well
Usain Bolt wins 100m with untied shoe at Beijing Olympics | FoxSports - Fox Sports

It was impressive. I was wondering if he slowed down just so that he could beat the world record several times, they get a bonus every time they break the world record, right? (Which is why Bubka and Isinbajeva would raise the bar cm at a time in the pole valut)

Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China

Loved watching Bolt. What a perfect name for a runner.

"Gotta Bolt now"

The women's marathon was about as exciting as watching paint dry. I don't understand why they showed us almost the full 2 hours of it. Some of it and the ending would have been ok.

Micheal Phelps has done an amazing thing. He's set all kinds of records and made all kinds of history. Look how long it took to beat not only Spitz's record, but the record of an Olympic Athlete with the most gold medals ever. Prior to that, the record was 9 career golds and now he has what 13?. Amazing Athlete and so humble.

Not at all like the wrestling athlete that took bronze and showed his a** at the ceremony by taking off his medal and throwing it in the ring and storming off. The IOC later stripped him of the medal, but it doesn't get awarded to anyone else which is a shame. Such poor sportsmanship and I bet there are several athletes that would have been happy to have been the bronze medal winner.

Why not? When they find out someone was doping, they give the medal to the next in line, don't they? Not that this is the same thing, I guess. That's just a shame. There are plenty who would've been honored to bring home any medal.

Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China

Has anyone heard where Mark Spitz was when Phelps won his 8th gold??

I was tickled to death watching Bolt win the race and set the world record!!! Very exciting!! He is so gifted that I don't see anything wrong with him running the race HIS way....and celebrating exactly the way he wanted to!!! He almost crossed the finish line sideways!! Phenomenal!!! I did feel a little sorry for his fellow-countryman, Asafa Powell, whom was thought to be his main competition. He looked beyond shocked...like he wanted to cry, but couldn't. Asafa Powell finished 5th which, I'm sure, was a huge shock.

Bolt won that race with grace and incredible ease. He is an amazing man!!
