I do wish they would show less basketball and soccer though. I want to see some sports that aren't on TV all the time.
I know that's what I liked about living closer to the border and was able to switch between American stations and Canadian stations. To bad I now live too far south to do so. I also noticed that when I watched the Canadian stations the local news was about local events, the national news was about national events and the intertional news was about other nations. Unfortunately American stations tend to be all about me, me, me (me being the US). Imagine my surprise when I was traveling in Europe and the CNN broadcast was about events happening in Europe.

A big congratulations to Dana Torres, at 41 years of age, on winning the silver in the women's 50m freestyle and missing the gold by only .01 of second, same time difference as Michael's win in the 100m fly. I would love to see her in London in four years.

Same here. I was waiting to watch the race, they are showing the women's now, and I hit Comcast with the results of the Men's relay showing. Oh well, I will still watch it is pretty cool.

Re: Summer Olympics: Beijing, China

I just saw Usain Bolt set the WR. Not to take away from what he did because he was amazingly fast and a thrill to watch, but...if he hadn't been hotdogging across the finish line, he may have been a second or two quicker. There's plenty of time for showboating when the race is over, IMO.

A tenth or two, maybe. A second or two? Never. It's amazing how easy he made it look, though.
