I follow the same logic. But over in the REAL MANS (hockey) playoffs, it just seems almost unethical to root for Dallas!
To keep this OT, I will go with the hometown Lakers!

In my world, the team that beat yours sucks and doesn't deserve to win anything.

I don't think that it is jumping on the bandwagon for most. I love NFL football and appreciate the length of the season. Every game counts. I love baseball, but won't really pay much attention until late August. I have followed the Celtics all season, but didn't changed my TV viewing habits until April. There are just too many games in the season (NBA, NHL, MLB).

The bandwagon people are those that out of nowhere are "diehard" fans. They do not know a thing about their team, but they are their #1 fan (when successful in the post season). I love "tormenting" people (when my team is up against theirs) like this with stats, trivial facts about my team (and sometime theirs), and general knowledge of the sport.

I am sorry the Celtics beat your Cavs Unk, but their is something to be said for a team that in a year goes from worst to first. Even if you aren't a Celtics fan, it makes the NBA playoffs more exciting.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2008

I checked to see how much the tickets were going for as I would love to see a Lakers playoff game. Sadly, no way can I afford it.

Bring it on Broadway!! I'm wearing my 'Celtics Suck' T-shirt, and my Lakers 'Back-to-Back Champions' (87/88) pullover.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2008

You're making me HAVE to pull for the Celtics now, if only to see Kobe continue to miss out at another title. What's this with the rumored dalliance with the cheerleader?

Re: NBA Playoffs 2008

This isn't the election thread. Who cares about dalliances.

If you're looking for role models you may want to look someplace other than the NBA.
