    FoRT HoCKEY 2007

    Hi everyone. Since there hasn't been a hockey pool started yet I thought I'd give a go this year in running one. If you are interested in joining up, please PM me. It is setup through Yahoo sports so you need a Yahoo login. I know it's short notice but better late than never. There is room for 19 teams so if you want to sign up please do so.

    Really simple format:

    15 players on your team, every day you can change who is dressed (that is 8 forwards, 2 defense, 1 util, & 1 goalie who collect points for your team)
    Goal = 1 point
    Assist = 1 point
    Goalie Win = 1 point
    Goalie Shutout = 2 points

    I've set the league for autodraft which I will run on Wednesday, Sept 26th at noon MST(approx.). You can edit your player rankings or accept the default from Yahoo.

    Anyways I think that is everything. If you are interested please PM me. Thanks.

    It sounds fun! Last year's format didn't allow you to switch out your players on a daily basis. It was pre-set for a week at a time. Bad when someone was injured. This sounds great.

    I also forgot to mention that after the autodraft you can propose trades with other teams or switch any of your players out because the rest of the players not drafted will be setup as free agents. You can then add any of the free agents if you drop one of your existing players. It's more like a NFL pool but I like it because you can constantly fine tune your team to get better or get worse if you drop someone who really starts to perform.

    Sweet, I'm in.

    ETA: May I suggest bumping it to 9 forwards, 4 D-men, 1 util, and 2 goalies? That just seems "right" to me

    Funny you should mention that because I changed the lineup already. I actually increased the number of Util positions. My thought was that having more Util positions lets people play either more forwards, d-men, or goalies whichever they think will get the most points while still making them have some of each.

    As of right now it is:
    6 forwards
    2 defense
    3 util
    1 goalie
    3 bench

    Let me know what you think. Until the autodraft on Wednesday I can change it to whatever lineup we want.

    Can goalies be used in the util spot? I'm just used to having 2.

    I think so but just in case I'll add a goalie position just for you JR.

    I'm in. Thanks for adding another goalie, Bubba-Jo, I'd prefer 2 as well.

    Okay. The draft is set to ready. I'd thought it would just do it right away but the message said sometime between now and Sept. 30th the draft will be done.

    Now the question becomes who gets Sid the Kid.
