March Madness - FORT bracket pool?

Does anyone know when they usually announce the NCAA Final 4 brackets?

I haven't seen a single game all season, but once that starts I watch every game on when I'm not at work!

I thought it would be fun if we found the brackets somewhere online where we could do a FORT pool. I'm really terrible at it, but it's always fun to try it! (especially when there's no betting involved! )

That would be fun Bravo! The brackets come out two weeks from tomorrow I believe.

Cool, I'll keep my eye out.

Unfortunately I always fill those things out with my heart rather than my head, so unless we have a bunch of upsets I probably won't be the FORT victor!

I run a pool at the office which uses what I call "The Upset Special Scoring Method." You still only do well if you pick most of your games correctly. BUT you are encouraged to select upsets because you get kickers for picking upsets correctly. Basically, you multiply the winning team's seed number by a different number for each round when you pick the winner correctly. #1 seeds aren't worth as much early, but they rake in the points late. See what I mean?

Depending on the number of people who participate, I might be willing to score the brackets for everyone who wants to submit some.
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey

Somehow I knew the Paulie brackets would be a math logistics nightmare

Seriously though, I do the same thing for a bowl game pools.

    I think I have a headache!

Thanks Paulie! It might just be you, Bill and I participating!

We can coin it as men v. women of the FORT if you want!! HAHA

I can easily set one up if anyone else wants.

Paulie, If you do yours, then I'll go in it.
    I'm the upset special.

Count me in! I never even get close to winning in these. But it's still fun to play!

You're right BF. It's more fun when you know you aren't going to lose any money!

I started scoring my brackets this way because the winners were always picking boring high seeds to win all the way through. I'm always much more interested in trying to ferret out those early round upset winners. It's really not that confusing. Really.

    Here's the scoring method:

    1st round - 1 x winning team's seed number
    Sweet 16 - 3 x winning team's seed number
    Elite 8 - 5 x winning team's seed number
    Final Four - 10 x winning team's seed number
    Finalists - 15 x winning team's seed number
    NCAA Champ - 20 x winning team's seed number

My (at the time) 1-year-old son won the pool using this scoring method because he really liked the sound of "Gonzaga."

I'm in. And hopefully I'll manage to manage to extend my streak of finishing ahead of Paulie's daughter to two in the office pool. I know I don't have a chance against his son!
