Even after her was fired as coach of the Flyers they took him on as a scout, so he was obviously well thought of at Philly, Unk, he just wasn't working as their coach this season.
It was suggested by some Canadian hockey analysts that he "lost the room" at Philly, i.e. the players were no longer responding to him.
I don't know enough about the Blue Jackets (or hockey in general to be honest) to know if they're any better off with Hitchcock, but I would think they likely are. He might be able to help Nash get his season back on track, because he's been fairly disappointing so far.

On a sour note (imo) Pronger is second to Niedermeyer in the All-Star game voting for Western conference defencemen (<----- that's for Pronger, not Scott).
Canadian angel will be pleased to know Kipper is leading the goalie votes for the west and IIRC Iginla is one of the top three vote getters among the forwards.

As much as the people in Alberta might dislike Pronger for going to Anaheim, they are first in their conference and second overall behind Buffalo.

I haven't seen the results online anywhere, they showed the leaders for both conferences on TSN during game intermissions.
They might have the results at the TSN site, I didn't think to look.
I believe Niedermeyer has 74,000+ votes and Pronger 70,000+, Kipper was at 50,000+.
I guess my votes for Phaneuf haven't made much of a dent

Columbus isn't Hitchcock's kind of team. I see their record improving, but he won't last very long because a guy like Zherdev doesn't like the system...

That line brawl between Washington and Atlanta will start up the head-shot debate again... Sutton was clearly head-hunting and Mike Green was extremely lucky to avoid that, and you probably won't see Sutton get suspended.

I can't believe Hartley sent Hossa out when it was obvious there would be a fight or two on the next shift, and Vishnevski was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Not like Brashear had anyone else to go after...scratching Boulton was a bad choice.

Thanks for voting for Jay, Amanda he stands zero chance of making it in. while he plays on a dud team like the Panthers.
The All-Star team might be more skillfull without him, but it'll be slower and definitely won't be as good-looking, which I know isn't a major concern to most hockey fans


Some sites think there might be trickery afoot from the NHL re Fitzpatrick, Rusicade.
They haven't released numbers for the West coast write-in yet and people are speculating that votes for Rory are being thrown out.

The Washington and Atlanta coaches got fined for sending players out to fight.
It looked like Brashear really did a number of Vishnevski's nose.

It's really nice to hear that they're doing so well. A quality sports team always makes Buffalo a much happier place to live, and, though I only have Chicago to compare it to, the Buffalo fans are always hugely supportive of their teams. Chicago seems much more fairweather in comparison.

The last time I watched (years ago), though, it was all Hasek Hasek Hasek. All Hasek, all the time. It was tiresome.
