:yay for Mary :yay for Kim
It is so great to see two players so deserving in the finals. Mary who won her first grand slam 10 years ago and her second five years ago, is set to win her third tomorrow. They called it 'The 5 Year Plan.'
And Kim, who has had a great summer, winning the road to the US Open tournement will recieve double the money if she wins tomorrow.
However in the end I am cheering for Mary.
Agassi beat Ginepri in a well-fought 5 setter! There were quite a few times there where I thought Ginepri just might pull it out, but all of a sudden Agassi found his final wind and blew him out midway through the 5th set.
And then how cute were the shots of Andre with his kids? He gave a very classy interview with Dick Enberg and John McEnroe too. It's hard to even remember his "Image is everything" days. It's looking to me like Federer is going to destroy Hewitt.
Agassi! Another great match!
Does Agassi have a realistic change to beat Federer?
I saw the Agassi match, and it was so entertaining, I will miss him when he retires. And sure, I think he has a chance, it's Agassi. However, after all those five setters and if it's Federer, then it's a very, remote, slim chance.
If he plays like he did in the fifth set today. Otherwise, no unless Roger has a horrible day.
Roger looked vulnerable today. Regardless of their standings Agassi is a better player than Hewitt so things are looking up.
Kim won. Meh. Mary got beat the same way she got beat at the French Open. Kim had a nice payday. 2.2 million dollars. The regular 1.1 million was doubled because she won the US Open Series. Funny thing is that Mary was second in the series.
I'm so sad that Sharapova's out. I was rooting for her. :(
Go Agassi! I just don't like Federer, he needs to lose for once!
I'm delighted that Kim won. She is very talented and seems to play her matches with character.
I'll definitely be rooting for Andre tomorrow although he's a long shot. I'd love to see his heart and determination rewarded with another glad slam title.
I really do like Federer; he's amazingly talented and another good representative of the sport. But, for me, tennis or any other sport becomes boring when any one athlete is so dominating that the outcome of a tournament is almost a foregone conclusion.
My best singles matches of the tournament so far:
Agassi vs. Blake
Agassi vs. Genepri
Federer vs. Santoro (for sheer entertainment)
Hewitt vs. Dent
Clijsters vs. Sharapova
