Evert leaving tennis broadcasting
BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) -- Chris Evert is leaving tennis broadcasting after 13 years as an analyst for NBC Sports.
The tennis great wants to spend the next few summers at home with her family and devote time to charitable and public service work, her tennis academy and the magazine she publishes.
"It is time to experience summer at home with the family and I can't wait," said Evert, winner of 157 singles titles, including 18 Grand Slams. She and husband Andy Mill have three sons -- Alex, 11; Nicholas, 8; and Colton, 6.
Evert began work as an NBC tennis analyst in 1990 when she ended her playing career. She has also covered the French Open and last year was a commentator at Wimbledon for the BBC.
