I'm so happy hockey is back....
I just recieved a letter from Gary Bettman.....I was going to post it here..but didn't know if I could do that or not (plus I'm sure others have received it as well)...

The Habs got #5 in the draft....has anyone read over the rule changes?? Some seem like they will really open up the game...others I'm not so crazy about...
Oct 5...Hockey is back!!

Does anyone expect Sidney Crosby will not go first? There could be worse teams for him to go to than Pittsburgh.

Ha, I couldn't name anyone else in the draft.
I'm sure the league was hoping for a bigger TV market, Pitt is ranked somewhere in the 20s.

Congrats to the Pens as they were drowning and needed this to stay in Pittsburgh (probably anyways). I'm happy Detroit is picking in the teens (19) because if there was a season we would be in the mid 20's...maybe even 30 . I can't wait until October 5th. It's gonna be a great day, and I can't wait to see the first shootout in the new NHL.

THANK GOODNESS!!!

We (the Lightning) won the cup last year and didn't get to defend it... hopefully next season will feel the same!

Well it looks like the Habs are going to try and get fans in the seats (not like they would really have a hard time)...

Quote:
Boivin said that while top end ticket prices won't change, there will be discounts of more than 10 per cent on 4,500 tickets per game, 500 tickets in the family zone will be sold at less than $10 and 500 tickets will be handed out free on 17 Tuesday night games.
From this article.... http://sports.sympatico.msn.ca/NHL/W...etect=&abc=abc

I wish I lived in Montreal...I'd go see a game in the nose bleeds for under 10 bucks!!

Nose bleed seats are awful, I wouldn't take them for free. The whole point of going to a game is to feel like you're part of it, with those seats, you might as well be in a different city.
They should lower all seats, and not just a few dollars either, if they really want to do something for the fans.

I guess you're probably right J.R. nose bleeds do probably suck....but I'd bring my binoculars. Just to be at the Bell Centre would be awesome!

They released the schedule today!
I'm just so excited to have hockey back!
Habs play the Bruins in Beantown for their opener.

We already have our first "rival party" planned for the Habs/Leafs game on the 8th of October! (the rest of our family are Leafs fans ~ this is the year of course ...we're already hearing it)
