The Canadiens re-signed Michael Ryder for a million for a year.

LA Kings forward Trent Klatt has retired. 700 games or so and 350 points.

Ryan Smyth has been re-signed by the Oilers.

The Blues named Dallas Drake their captain today.

The Bruins are reportedly looking for a deal involving their behemoth of a defenseman Hal Gill. It will make room for Boynton...

The Islanders plan to name Alexei Yashin their captain. Bah, I say he doesn't deserve it. Although thinking of a better candidate is hard...

Just when you thought the Red Wings were out of contention for the Stanley Cup, they re-sign Pavel Datsyuk! Hard luck for Avangard, though.

And hard luck for me. I don't like the Wings.

Another victim of concussion woes, Adam Deadmarsh has retired.

This also means that all elite NHLer's are signed.

The Ranger's goalie of the future (Or at least until Al Montoya's ready) Dan Blackburn retired. I didn't expect it...but he didn't play last season because of an injury, which is most likely the cause of his retirement.

The Devils-needing to clear up some payroll space-traded Jeff Friesen to the Caps-who desperately need a good, if not elite, scoring touch-for a conditional draft pick.
