Pink Ribbons (horse owned by two breast cancer survivors)
There was a very nice article in Wednesday's USA TODAY on a three year old filly trotter named Pink Ribbons, who will be starting Friday Night (July 15) in the final of Delvin Miller Memorial Trot, a $350,000 race at The Meadowlands that is the final major prep race for the Hambletonian Oaks, the filly companion race of The Hambletonian which like its male counterpart will have eliminations on Saturday, July 30 and its final on Saturday, August 6, also at The Meadowlands. The two owners of the filly are both breast cancer survivors, and donate 10% of the filly's earnings to The Victory Center, a cancer patient support facility in Toledo, OH. You can see the complete story on this by clicking this link.
The filly will not be one of the favorites in the final (as she was second in her elimination last Friday night), but this is still a great story nonetheless. You can actually see the race Friday night live through The Meadowlands website by clicking this link.
The Delvin Miller is scheduled to be the seventh race on the card, with post time at approximately 9:45 PM ET/6:45 PM PT.
