What a running of The Preakness!!

This is one that will be talked about for some time:

If you didn't see it, it's already a race many in the Sport of Kings have said was one of the most amazing sites they have ever seen!

What basicaly happened was Afleet Alex was making a big move on the turn that would have turned the Preakness into a runaway when Scrappy T, who had been in front veered out badly and nearly caused Afleet Alex to go down, but instead not only did Afleet Alex stay up, but his jockey Jeremy Rose stayed aboard and they ran away as it was!

You can see the video of The Preakness on MSNBC's site by clicking this link.

A good race indeed, glad to see that Afleet recovered to win.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" -- Steve Parker

Amazing race! Most horses would have lost their stride after that, but he just kept on going.

Wasn't that something? It's incredible that he managed to pull that off. Not to take anything away from the jockey, but it seemed it was all about the horse after that. He recovered immediately and shot off to not only win, but didn't he win by about 5 lengths? I think this is one of those sports that is much more demanding than it looks. I mean for the jockeys. Can you imagine the strength they must have in their legs?

For those of you who really like horse racing, I would suggest you get "Seabiscuit" on DVD. The footage of the actual Seabiscuit is worth the price of admission. The (true) story/movie is good too. Seabiscuit came back from an awful injury. It's a tearjerker, but in a good way.
