I'm late in replying to this - just saw the thread. A big congratulations to Giacomo and his rider! What a win. :yay The Derby must be quite an event to be in attendance of - the hats, the excitement, the history, and, of course, the mint juleps!!

The Kentucky Derby is the oldest continuous sporting event in the US, followed by the Westminister Dog Show.

Looks like I'm alone in it today. I picked (for no particular reason)
1. Point Determined
2.Barbaro
3.Bob and John :)
If anyone is curious, the unoffical standings were :
Win:Barbaro
Place:Bluegrass Cat
Show:Steppenwolfer
Barbaro just kept pulling away. Wow. I had a $5 bet each on Sinister Minister, Keyed Entry and Point Determined to win. Oh well. :laugh They were all in it for awhile.
Wow, Barbaro just smoked the field. I wonder how close it would have been if Brother Derek didn't have traffic troubles?
