My Angels are into the ALCS! My parents have had season tickets for as long as I can remember AND they're originally from St Louis - obviously, we're hoping for an Angels/Cards World Series

Don't know if the Angels can beat the White Sox - they always have trouble with them (vs. the Yankees, who they beat up on a regular basis! ), but I'm hopeful anyway.

So... anyone heard who Steinbrenner's going to fire this time?

ESPN thinks the General Manager Brian Cashman isn't coming back. His contract is up. There is some speculation that Joe Torre will be thrown under the train.

If anyone does not deserve to be fired, it's Joe Torre. He did an amazing job with a team struggling with an injury depleted pitching staff.

Although I am a devoted Yankees fan, I have never liked George Steinbrenner. My opinion of him will drop even further if he fires Torre.

BTW, Mariner, I recall your saying you were going to Seattle's last game. I sympathize with you on their loss. The Mariners are a team I have often admired.

Colon won't be doing any pitching in the ALCS, period. He's not even on the roster. Washburn is going to start Game 2, though.

Thanks Florimel. We have hope for the future because we have a 19 year old kid pitcher who did really well when he was called up the second half of the season. I don't think Torre deserves to be fired either.

ETA: Thanks Leo. I didn't hear about Colon until I started watching the game. The Angels are up 3-0 early.

I came in here to say a little chant for our hometown boys tonight against the Cardinals! Go 'Stros!!!!

I am still recovering from that amazing 18 inning game Sunday. Anyone that loves baseball had to enjoy that game....it was knuckle bending excitement.

Hope they carry the momentum forward in the series!

Glad to see the Angels beat the Sox last night. Keep it up, boys! As long as the Sox don't go any further, it's all good.

I will be rooting for the Astros to take it all, though. Hopefully they can get off to a good start tonight. Go Andy!!

It was a shame the way last night's Angels/Sox game ended. There were so many things wrong with the umpire's call on the strike out.

I agree, Mariner. The Angels' got jipped.

That is just SO unfair in a playoff game.
