Nope, no contract yet for Dafoe, and there's been no news around here either. Strange, he had good numbers in his years here, didn't have a good playoff series but the D was nonexistant.

It always sucks when goalies get blamed for having no D, but he did have a pretty unspectacular playoffs. That said he's only what, 26? 27? He's not an old goalie.

Sakic,Foote and Forsberg took to the ice during the introduction with their Nordique jerseys, causing a huge ovation. Patrick Roy,a Quebec city native, also received a big response. On hand were HHOF famers Jean Beliveau, and Guy Lafleur, who ended his amazing career with the Nordique.Montreal was of course, soundly booed as most Quebec City natives switched their allegiance to the Avs after the move.

From the look of it , the Leafs should have given Dafoe the invite to the smog capital of Canada. His record was better with just a bad playoff, than Eddies. They did however , win in their second outing with Detroit 3-1. Kidd was apparently good, and the surprise teen Carlo Colaiacovo 19,scored his third goal of the pre season. Not too shabby at all.
Joseph of course did not dress, fearing Mattie on line one.

Bruins are my secret fav, as lots of our city natives have Boston connections.Fun fact - Gord Downey, lead singer of Canada's #1 band has Harry Sinden the Boston president and former coach, as his godfather.
I think I could dig up a pic of me as a teen, with a Boston jersey. It drove my Father insane when I wore it, and was probably a big part of why I got turfed from the family homestead at 17.It was Toronto in our house or nothing, and there was no other choice on Sat. nite TV ,than Hockey Night in Canada.
See Ducky, its brainwashed into me to be a Leafs fan, and come talk Hockey more often JR!
Ducky, Miss F and I can talk about other stuff besides how much of a babe Forsberg is . John never comes in here cause... well ... that Red Wings thing.

    Sports Illustrated AP photo

Tickets went on sale last December, and sold out in a few hours
$500 was the going scalper rate. Not too bad for a exhibition game.

Is it wrong that that picture brought tears to my eyes? God, I love Sakic.

Boston is also a sentimental favourite for people around these parts. They've got loads of Canadian boys. Joe Thornton is from here and Jason Allison, (when he played for Boston) had a lot of fans because he played OHL in London for years.
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

It's tough being a Bruin's fan with this shitty management. I haven't been to a game in about 5 years because I refuse to pay top dollar for a halfassed team. JJ doesn't spend money to get or keep the good players, even though he has plenty, so I won't pay to see them.

I can only imagine what will happen at the end of this season when both Thornton and Samsonov are restricted free agents.

Forsberg is looking SO HOT. Oh my god.

And Sakic... well you already know how I feel about him. Foote is hot too. And upon rereading eny's post, I think Sakic has a killer wrist shot (see, not all about him being sexy).

Don't worry about Thorton, I hear Finland is a great place to fine-tune your skills for a year.

I don't really feel either way about Boston. And eny, it was sacrilige, today I was doing the tattoos at the family day and there was this little kid in a Leafs jersey and I was like, ugh! And tehn another kid got the logo face-painted and I was like, EW! I saw Mighty Ducks, Canucks, Red Wings (boo hiss) and Oilers gear galore.

I thought its was so sad when Bourke brought the Stanley Cup back to Boston.I was like why couldn't that management bring one home, how embarrassing.
But then look at the Leafs - Meh.... Harry is as ineffective as Dryden at making that happen.

Honestly I think the Leafs have the smallest shot at winning a Cup of any Canadian team, except maybe for the Flames. And if the Sens can make it past the second round, they could probably do it as long as they don't face, like, Colorado. Cause Colorado kicks ass! Woo! This is their year, baby. Again. Except... it might not be. Oh shut up, brain! *Ducky smacks her head around*

Yes Ducky that was why I posted the pic. Forsberg and Sakic both looked uh............presentable.
The ex game was such a sucess, they have already started plans for a rematch next year.I remember how much those two teams hated each other, mostly because of the politics involved. Joe said he was really happy to have a chance to see the city again, as when the team was sold it was done in the off season and he felt bad about never having said goodbye.::sniff::
Yes anyone but the old fat Wings winning will be fine.

::Eny looks around to make sure John's not in forum::::

I could totally get a real Leafs tatoo.Maybe I'll get the yingyang changed to a leaf
