Last night's game was intense. The Huskies prevailed in the end, but it was in doubt until the end. I also realized what a freaking dirty player Julius Hodge is. He kept elbowing guys and grabbing jerseys. He's smart though. He only got caught once or twice.

Gonzaga beat Oklahoma State last night. The second time this season they have beaten a team ranked number three. Maybe they'll finally get some respect now.

I like how one poll (USA/EPSN) had the Zags ranked 21st, while the other (AP Poll) had them at #12. I think it's quite obvious they are playing more like a #12 team.

Missouri beat Gonzaga in a tense, tense game. It was fun to watch.

Just how lame the BCS has made the New Year's Day bowls is illustrated by the fact that I have been watching the Georgia Tech/Kansas basketball game. It has been a great game. Kansas was down by a ton and has come back. There are 42.6 seconds left and it's tied at 61.

Edited to add: OT, baby!

Kansas won after taking their first lead of the game with 1:40 left in overtime. College basketball is the best.

My Michigan State Spartans kicked some Nittany butt tonight, 84-58 (sorry, Speedy )!! It's on now, tape-delayed.. so I'm going to be able to have some fun watching it without worry.

Right on, Mariner!

That Kansas/Georgia Tech game WAS a great game, wasn't it? I really feel like GT was robbed...by a bad charging call by a hometown referee. It really looked to me like the shooter got there first and was shooting already by the time the defender stepped under the basket. Kansas' first real test...but still on the home court. Come on, Self.....broaden your team's horizons in the pre-conference season.

Mariner...who is your team? Zags?

The Illini won last night...pretty heartily. But Ohio St. sure can drain the 3's. Good shooters on that team. Big test for the Illini on saturday....on the road at Purdue.

I have a lot of affection for the Zags because they are an in state team and a very well run program, but no. I grew up in Oregon as a Duck fan, but I've had part of season tickets to the University of Washington games for several years and have become a fan over time.
