NFL Conference Championships (Playoff Week 3)

Tampa Bay Bucanneers at Philadephia Eagles, Sunday 3:00pm ET on Fox.

If the Bucs want to get to the big show, they'll have to do something they haven't been able to do recently -- defeat the Eagles at Veterans Stadium. Tampa Bay was eliminated by Philadelphia in the first round of the playoffs the last two years. Donovan McNabb showed little rust in the Eagles' divisional playoff win over Atlanta, while the Bucs looked dominant against San Francisco. The Philadelphia defense, however, will certainly provide a stiffer test for Tampa Bay than the banged-up 49ers did, particularly at the raucous Vet.
Tennessee Titans at Oakland Raiders, Sunday 6:30pm ET on CBS.

Tennessee feels the only way to get respect is to win it all in San Diego on January 26. The Titans struggled to put away Pittsburgh in the divisional round before Joe Nedney's 26-yard field goal in overtime sealed the deal. The Raiders, meanwhile, want to earn some respect of their own after soundly defeating the Jets, who some were crowning the New England Patriots of 2002. Things won't be easy for Steve McNair and company in the confines of Network Associates Coliseum, where a horde of boisterous and energized Raiders fans await.

Danny Sheridan's odds from the USA Today:

    NFC Championship
    PHILADELPHIA 3 Tampa Bay 34

    AFC Championship
    OAKLAND 7 Tennessee 47

Once again, no surprise he's called home team advantage all playoffs. He sure knows how to go out on a limb, eh?

Congrats on the Bucs' victory, John. You must have been thrilled!

I certainly hope they do better against the Eagles this time out than they have the last couple years.

The Eagles lost just 1 game in conference, Bravo. Because Philly and Tampa never met during the season, that's the tiebreaker.

Everything in the books - stats, history, even the weather - says the Bucs shouldn't count on a trip to San Diego. Somehow, though, I think they have a chance. Too close to call; will probably go to OT.

I am, however, pretty sure the Titans won't be booking any tickets to California either. Going against someone with both the MVP quarterback and a sharp defence, as the Jets found out? Not a chance.

The Bucs are going to have to have Pittman show up to win. The Eagles secondary is too good to let Johnson have a big game.

    Should be a good one.
