It's only intentional grounding if he is between the tackles and doesn't throw the ball past the line of scrimmage.

I fault the Giant's special teams overall for generally screwing up field goals all day long, this was no exception, and even with the off-setting penalties, I think he had no chance of hitting the field goal anyway.

Yeah, I think he would have missed it because they blew one in the same range badly earlier, and really the snapper was just not going to help matters any.
