    Sports Stars You Have Met

lets see who has met someone who is a sports celeb.

    I'll start

Nascar stars Derrick Cope, Darrel Waltrip, Ken Schrader, and Dale Earnhardt

Also in that photo is (With his back to the camera Neil Bonnet) as he was asking earnhardt where the picture was for him, that he was signing for Ilikai. Dale told him, "over at the souvenir trailer for $35, Buy one"

plus me in front of the best racing car in history

also, i didn't pay one dollar for any of these pictures, can the other sports stars say that?

I lived right next to LaVar Arrington in the dorms at PSU our freshman year. Porter Hall.

Let's just say he had ladies over every night and I didn't .

Once when I was in the Seattle Airport, I saw several members of the Seattle SuperSonics (my favorite NBA basketball team). I saw Tom Chambers and Nate McMillan. And I spoke to the X-Man, Xavier McDaniel. He was rude and stupid. I tried to ask him about the coming playoffs, and he just blew me off with a completely wrong answer, which amused me later. I was glad he didn't have any clue since he was such an idiot. I waited by their gate to see Dale Ellis, my favorite player at the time. They kept calling him over the loudspeakers, but he never made the plane. That was disappointing. I'd have asked for his autograph, but then again, he wouldn't have had time to sign, I guess.

Let's see. I also saw Brent Jones (49ers tight end) at a San Francisco Giants game once. I leapt out of my seat to see about getting his autograph or something and asked him (and I know this sounds stupid ): "Hey, aren't you Brent Jones?" And he said "Yep" and kept walking away from me.

What else? Well, I got an autograph from Rick Mirer when he was quarterback of the Seahawks. I saw Shawn Kemp the next table over at a local Denver eatery. I saw Steve Young in his BMW pulling out of Safeway as I was pulling in.

Oh, and I saw Joe Montana at the Stanford Shopping Center one time. It was during the Christmas shopping season, and I just let him go about his business with his family rather than interrupting him. It was just neat to see him. He's WAY taller than he appears on TV.
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey

Very cool JoeGuy. I really like the second one
I've met no sport stars. Or if I have I didn't know who they were

When my daughter makes the US Olympic soccer team, I'll come back and tell you of the folks I meet

I met Dusty Baker at a minor league game during the 1994 strike.

I've had friends who've met Joe Montana and J.T. Snow of the S.F. Giants.

    That's it.

I went to high school with Lee Woodall of the 49ers (previously eagles) and Billy Owens who played NBA for various crappy teams. They were gods in my sleepy hometown.

Does Harry Carey count?? He's not really a Sports STAR as much as he is a Sports "celebrity". But it was a great moment. I was a kid--like 12 years old--and I met him before a Cubs game at Wrigley. The guy treated everyone as if he had known them his whole life. The friendliest guy ever.

No pictures for me but I met Magic Johnson when I was about 12 years old. I wasn't tall at all even for my age, so shaking his hand must have looked really funny to others.
