That was an excellent win for the water polo squad.
    Five unanswered goals.

Van denHoogenband and The Thorpedo are about to go in the 100 free.

Thorpe is apparently going to drop the 400 in future, which will make him more competative in the 100.

The mens 100 free was won by Van denHoogenband after Schoeman of RSA lead after 50 in world record pace.
He really chased Schoeman down in the last 20, but didn't get a WR or OR.
    Schoeman was second.
Ian Thorpe won the bronze from lane 8

I'm just glad Thorpe got something out of that 100m men's freestyle. too

Pieter van den Hoogenband. This Dutch is too cool.

I read somewhere that a lot of engineering and testing goes into ensuring the women players don't have to worry about their clothing shifting out of place. One of the players (Misty May, I think? Or Holly McPeak?) said that if they weren't 100% confident they won't pop out, they wouldn't be able to play at the high level they need to in order to win. I don't know how they can guarantee proper placement, but there you have it.

I watched this morning a little bit of shot put competition. It took place on the old historical field, which made it very special I think. I didn't have time to see who won, but I am sure they will replay some of it tonight (and as always pretend that its happening "right now" which I find so funny about those evening broadcasts).
ps. This is just my opinion in the matter.
