Man, this guy gets hurt a lot. He was having a heck of a comeback season, too. So much for the NL "500 Homerun Club Outfield" fanfare.

Griffey out of All-Star Game, Derby
Reds outfielder sustains partial hamstring tear
By Todd Lorenz / MLB.com

MILWAUKEE -- The Reds announced Sunday morning that Ken Griffey Jr. will not participate in the Century 21 Home Run Derby or in Tuesday's 75th All-Star Game at Minute Maid Park due to a partial tear of his right hamstring.
Griffey sustained the injury while attempting to track down a fly ball in right-center field on Saturday night at Miller Park. He was immediately removed from the game and flown back to Cincinnati. He was examined by Reds medical director Dr. Timothy Kremchek on Sunday and will be placed on the 15-day disabled list to make room for John Vander Wal.

Griffey, who was to be part of baseball's first All-Star outfield comprised solely of members of the 500 Home Run club, will end the first half of the season hitting .251 with 20 home runs and 60 RBIs.

The slugger will attend Major League Baseball's press conference and ceremonies honoring the living members of the 500-home run club, but will be replaced on the National League's All-Star roster.

It will be the fourth time in his career that Griffey has been unable to play in the Midsummer Classic due to an injury.
