The thing to keep in mind with football contracts is that they aren't guaranteed. Those long multiyear deals are really just so the teams can prorate the signing bonus over a longer period for salary cap purposes. The real number to look at is the signing bonus. That amount the player is guaranteed (unless you quit to smoke weed).

Just heard on NFL Live that it is now a $34 mil signing bonus. Wow. I think Vick brings a lot of creativity to the game. There's no doubt that he is a exciting and great player. The Falcs wouldn't be anywhere near the playoffs had he not been at the helm. With that, he is a tad overrated (especially since I had him on my FFL), but if someone was willing to pony up the bucks to keep a solid team, then you can't blame him for taking it.

In other news, the Pro Bowl teams were announced. The Iggles had the most players (9) and the Stiller's had 6.
