I made a payment to the Bruins since they can't or won't sign free agents.

HOW WILL HE KNOW I'M HELPING?

Your NHL player will be told that he has a SPECIAL FRIEND who just wants to help in a time of need. Although the player won't know your name, he will be able to make collect calls to your home via a special operator in case additional funds are needed for unforeseen expenses.
    That's my favourite part.
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

Ken Dryden has been named to the Federal cabinet. I wonder what is tougher : a political career or stopping a slapshot with the groin.

I expect to be getting a call any day now. "Hey JR, you busy this winter?"

The guy he replaced in the riding was minister of defence
Too bad they didn't give him that portfolio. I mean it's so obvious.

Clouts signs a one year deal avoiding arbitration and it will most likely be his last as a Canuck.

    Cloutier avoids arbitration

Also signing new deals Monday were Eric Cole, Alexander Khavanov and Mathieu Dandenault.

Sportsnet.ca -- Dan Cloutier and the Vancouver Canucks avoided arbitration Monday, agreeing to a one-year, $3-million contract, Sportsnet has learned.

After back-stopping the Canucks to the Northwest Division title, Cloutier suffered a sprained right ankle in the first period of Game 3 of Vancouver's opening round series with Calgary. He missed the remainder of the playoffs and the Canucks went on to lose in seven games to the Flames.

Cloutier, a first-round selection (26th overall) by the New York Rangers in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, is coming off three straight seasons with 31-plus wins.

After being drafted by the Rangers, Cloutier joined the AHL's Binghamton Rangers in 1996-97, compiling a 23-28-8 record and 3.54 GAA. Cloutier spent parts of two seasons (1997-1999) in the NHL with New York, winning 10 games. The Rangers dealt him to Tampa Bay in 1999, and there Cloutier established himself as an everyday goaltender. The Canucks acquired Cloutier for Adrian Aucoin and a Entry Draft selection in 2001.
