Divalanche does have some good points. Though, neither team is really any better off than the other since the trade.

I think this might be Ottawa's year to beat TO. Maybe To will meet NJ in the first round, so NJ can knock them out.

You know what blows me away? That the Detroit media is still calling the Red Wings the best team in the NHL.

Yes, they won the Stanley Cup LAST SEASON, but they are currently mediocre.

That's the difference between the media in Detroit and Toronto. Bandwagon jumping notwithstanding, Toronto could be undefeated after 20 games and a$$holes like Al Strachan will still bitch and moan about Sundin not pulling his weight.

I just want to see Detroit go down.
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

The media (and fans) that follow Detroit wear Red Wing colored glasses. It disgusts me how many RW sweaters I saw at work the day they played the Avs.

Gee, only Nashville, Buffalo, and Atlanta have fewer points than the Sharks? Neat!

Yeah, that's the beauty of Toronto. It's so horribly fucked up, but the players can't get enough.

I don't know if I ever posted this Sundin quote.
After every game where the Leafs captain canít get out of his lethargy, the media ask him for explanations. When asked if heís fed up to have to face the same questions endlessly, the Swedish star answers:
"Absolutely not! I enjoy it! Every day, I look forward to those questions."
    -- Mats Sundin - May 8, 1999
    Is Mats sarcastic or masochistic?!

I love that! Never heard it before. Mats is one of those players that will never be fully appreciated until he's gone. Then the idiot Toronto media will be able to do is bitch and moan about losing him.

I also love listening to Mats talk. Can you pick out the Canadian accent on the Swede??

One of the biggest reasons he's so antagonized is because he's not Canadian. It's a slap in the face to some idiots that a European can represent the sainted Maple Leafs. I love Gilmour and Clark as much as the next guy, but Sundin has been a GREAT captain.

Yeah! I love the slight Canadainization of his Swedish accent. Cute. He is a great captain, and basically the only thing "wrong" with him is that he's not Canadian. But Sweden and Finland are basically the same as Canada but with socialist governments and a different language. Other than that, the culture and everything is basically the same.

If Mats were Canadian, he'd probably be the best captain ever! of the Leafs. Big, strong, powerful center.

He needs to breed with a Canadian girl to produce a perfect Hockey player. Any takers?

Wayner it takes courage to wear the Sharks jersey. How many of those guys were wearing those RW jerseys in 95 when they hadn't won a Cup in 40+ years. *cough BANDWAGON cough*

The RW's are a mediocre team this year. Must be that new goalie who has a choke problem .Bwahahahahaha

The TO press totally ripped apart poor Tellqvist. Never mind that the yoo hoos in front did nothing to help him and that he did stop some dandys. After ripping him apart, they admitted that even Eddie probably couldn't have stopped 2 of them.ASSHOLES

Tellqvist went in cold after Kidd had to leave the game. No warm-up, no warning, nothing. He did admirably for his first NHL game.

Any guy that has Borge Salming on his mask is a-ok with me.

Joseph is really setting Hockeytown on fire, isn't he? Wonder if he regrets leaving? I mean, with the likes of super egos Chelios and Hull on your team.. not to mention a viable star like Yzerman, no one gives a flying crap about Cujo. Love it!

And I'd be MORE than happy to see if I can help breed the perfect hockey player with Sundin. Talk to me, baby.

    Very good point, Eny.

And you reminded me how much I miss going to games against the Rangers and being able to chant "NineTeen-FOR-ty!" clap-clap-clapclapclap. Ah, good times, those were.
