OK When did the 'Talladega 500' become Aaron's 499??

I don't watch racing so I had no idea what this 'Aaron's 499' thing was that people were talking about last week.

Nascar people help me out -
Is the name 'Talladega 500' no more? Has the name of the race at Talladega officially been changed to the 'Aaron's 499'? Why? Who is Aaron anyway? Aaron's as in the electronics store? Who decided this? Are Nascar fans confused or is it just me? Did the other races get a name change?

Oh god Bama, you have been way out of the loop Yes there are other name changes, the firecracker 400 at Daytona has been the Pepsi 400 for about 10+ years. Lots of the races have gone through name changes because the corporations that put up the prize money want their name prominently displayed. The only race that hasn't had its name changed totally is the Daytona 500 which is now called the Daytona 500 sponsored by Pepsi. Pepsi knew the race fans wouldn't go for screwing with the name of the biggest race of the season. Some of the tracks have even had their names changed, most notably Charlotte wich is now Lowes Speedway. Sometimes it is hard figuring out what race is what now, sometimes I slip back to the old titles and have a hard time with it. And Aarons is the electronics rental store. They also sponsor a couple of cars in the Cup and Busch series too.

Meh. I don't like it. I like knowing that when I hear the words 'Talladega 500' on the TV or radio that I should stay away from I-20S that weekend. Thanks Ilikai
