YEAH!!! In your face KansASS!!! Man do I love the early season of NCAA hoops! The rankings are so dynamic, and the cream truly does rise to the top.
I was at the Illinois/Arkansas game this weekend. Illinois looked really good--Deron Williams has stepped up his game HUGE in the off season and he and Dee Brown are a truly great team together. He had a no look pass behind himself on a fast break--finished with a two hand slam by Roger Powell--that was probably one of the best fast break dishes and finishes I have ever seen. Live at least.

Woohoo!! Florida's apparently #1!!
Is anyone else reminded of that scene in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels when the main characters walk into a room, look around in confusion, and see everyone who was supposed to kill them is already dead?

Florida is number 1 in the ESPN/Coaches poll and in the AP poll.
My Horns moved up to 6. They play at Arizona on 12/9 so we'll find out pretty quickly if they're a bit overrated. I tend to think they are since they really haven't settled on a replacement for TJ Ford.

I'll be watching Texas closely tonight, LoneStar. Honestly, I am torn as who to cheer for, since I despise Arizona and pretty much the entire Big12. I will just hope for a good, nail biting game. I haven't heard much about Texas this year, nor AZ, really. But its looking to be a good one.
That game is in NYC too, isn't it??(since its part of the Jimmy V Classic?)

Yeah, it's in NYC. I haven't seen 'em play yet either (still in football mode).
Maybe I'll get lucky and the wife will let me watch it. :lol (yes, I'm whipped)

Well, that was a less than enjoyable game to watch. ;)
Three things.
1. If I had to hear the announcers talk about 'Zona's "lack of depth" one more time I was going to scream.
2. Hideous shot selection by the Horns
3. Hideous defense by the Horns
It's early and I still like 'em, but I don't think they have the one superstar that it usually takes to get a team over the top.

I hear ya, LoneStar, I hear ya!
At least 'Zona is a top 10 ranked team. The Illini lost to a (underranked, imo) not even top 25 team in Providence. But damn, they looked good. That zone was just unpenetrable for the Illini.

It looks like my Horns are more than a "bit over-rated". :lol
Nice butt-whipping by the Dukies Saturday.

eh, this time of year all of the teams are overrated!! Kansas just took a whoop ass from Nevada--which I was glad to see, of course!
Tomorrow, we have a great matchup of Illinois vs. Missouri on the supposed "neutral" court in St. Louis. Both teams have fallen pretty drastically in the polls, after losses to good, and mediocre teams.

Stanford knocks off the Zags in the Pete Newell Challenge. Where was that win four years ago?!? :laugh
