What Will Happen at the FRC?

Probably because Monday's episode was already in the can when all season long the spoilers were saying Chantal was F1. And it wasn't just the boardies who knew - main stream media had been going with Chantal F1 right from the git go.

Most people I talked that do not follow the boards were confused on who it would be. Some were hopeing Shawtel and others were between Chantal and Emily. People have a way of taking what someone says as the gospel instead of sitting back and thinking for themselves. RS takes the word of his friends and lead how many a stray. Quite a few and then they all get mad not at RS but the people on the show. They get ripped to shreds.

Maybe the audience has finally gotten used to who they like but who they figure the Bachelor is going to pick, and that of course is EDITING.

They would like Emily - sad story with editing to back up no overt bad qualities. She may be edited as boring, flat and unemotional, but she didn't make fun of the other girls' date cards, she didn't cry a lot, she didn't take her top off, she didn't make suggestive remarks, she didn't make remarks like, "You couldn't pick me out of 3 girls," which looked like she was trying to pressure Brad, and she didn't slap the Bachelor across the face!

The general tendency of this show has been to deceive the viewer into falling for the F2 so that when the lead chooses the F1, it is a big surprise.
Therefore, when he picks their choice this time, it will be shock!

Absolutely! Add to the fact that many felt like she was the female version of Chris L, they immediately assumed that her heart would be broken just like his. The mentality is that the nice guy/gal always finishes last (on this show). I think many braced themselves for the inevitable not knowing we would be getting something different than the norm this time.

True they did edit Emily as flat. As you sit and listen to those little things she comes up with you realize she has tons of personality but it quiet about it. Some of the deleted scenes are hilarious like when she grabbed the rose and said 'I will take that my dear'. Or when she said 'Brad is not leaving until he kisses me'. She is a lady that knows what she wants.

When it is all said and done it really does not matter to me who he picks. I just want that love story...even if it has a 95% chance to fail. I still hold on to my hopes that they will make it.

Sorry - just saw this and had to point it out. There are times I've thought he has a "God" complex...

When I hear him say that I actually have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach...that means someone is hurting -even if it is briefly, even if they did sign up for it, and even if it is on Reality TV. Somebody is hurting.

And we can also add that the audience is most likely to want the person they identify with the most. I'm a heart on my sleeve, fall in love quickly kind of person, so I relate most to Chantal.

A love story is subjective to every person - what I see as boring and lifeless, others see as the best love story since Ryan and Trista....different strokes for different folks....

With regards to the controversy, IMO it has already happened, the NASCAR date.
I don't believe there is anymore so called controversy for the FRC.

Well, it's looking like I'm going to see Chantal get her heart broke at the FRC but she's dating now, so I guess it's all good I've got this sick feeling though that Brad thought that he was getting his "Roberto" somebody he thought was unattainable.. but in reality he's going to get a "Shayne". What is it with people, guys and girls alike, they want to do the chasing, like it's a better prize if they have to persue it, and the one that absolutely adores them get's overlooked Oh well, another "meh" season for me... and I'm not fussy about Ashley being the B'ette sooooo... sucks to be me I guess

just do what I've done - realize this whole season was nothing but a farce from the beginning and a way for Brad to redeem his image - what we dont' know is what Emily's reward will be for playing along.

PS - I would feel the same way if Chantal was F1.

great advice anders maybe that's what he meant when he said that he was lucky that she was there... otherwise he'd have had to choose somebody that had actually fallen for him... Chantal, Ashley or Shawntel her reward? face time on tv and the type of guys that she's actually interested in will feel sorry for her when they break up??

When CH made those comments, Chantal was still being billed as the F1. Yes, the spoiler came out that F1 is really Emily; however, when CH did that voiceover, the show was already "in the can" so to speak and sent out to all the stations, so they wouldn't have had time to run him back to the studio, have him do a different voice over, replace the original with the new one, and then resend the show out to all the stations (hope that makes sense). There's no way it could have been redone in less than 2 days (from the time BlondieGal made the announcement to the time the show actually aired).

I think the "ending we NEVER saw coming" simply refers to the fact that the "spoilers" we've had all season long were WRONG...because, seriously, how many times have we listened to what Chris has said and then realized whatever he billed it as was much, much less than how it really went down. "Most controversial" season comes to mind...the ending we never saw coming was that the girl most nonspoiled viewers were hoping "wins" actually gets the guy, despite what the rags they've seen in the supermarkets have said.

I agree with you. I don't believe Chantal is F1 the spoilers are too many, but just for the sake of discussion, if the whole season was "in the can" then Chris knew what we'd see on the FD. I do know that most of the time Chris just blows smoke to reel us in, and then the finale is boring and totally does not go with his statements. But on the very outside chance that he is giving us a true statement this time I don't believe anyone, even the most diehard Chantal fans, would have come away from the FD episode still believing she was f1. The statement doesn't fit - everyone is expecting the fairytale ending after seeing Monday's episode.
If the "never" comment was in response to the Chantal is F1 spoilers (not knowing the Emily spoiler would come out) then to make it a "never saw coming" ending wouldn't they have just continued with the edit of caution between Brad and Emily? Wouldn't they have edited out Brad's response to the ily (just gone to the hug), or even the whole conversation for that matter?
I'm not trying to beat a dead horse. I'm not trying to convince that Chantal is F1. 99.999999999999% believes Emily is F1. There are just some things that still don't make total sense to me. Lithargic's source still implies that more is to come. I just always want to keep an open mind and not overlook anything. I miss the days when we didn't have spoilers. The boards would be having such great discussions/arguments now if that were the case this season!
