that's exactly what Fleiss and Co. is counting on the average viewer to think.... Chantal will get a much better edit on the next 2 dates, just enough to let that unspoiled audience doubt their feelings that Brad will choose Emily...(then they'll be in the same boat we are ) and the they'll be surprised when she's the F1.

I hope that if those viewers are surprised when he picks Chantal there isn't backlash that he didn't choose Emily. I know that is asking a lot, but I want these people to live happy ever after even if the person I was rooted for didn't become the F1.

That is the romantic in me.

Shawntel was my favorite this season, but if Brad chooses Chantal then I want them to make it outside of the show.

Just like last season when I wanted Chris L to wind up with Ali and didn't. I am happy she found her prince charming in Roberto.

I still think Emily is Brad's intended F1 especially based on Brad's endearing reaction to meeting Ricki and the prospect of being her Step Father. Brad has fallen in love with two women this season, Emily and Ricki. He wants to be an instant family and he is already in love with Emily. Meeting Emily's child was a crucial factor in their relationship advancing to the next level and the HTD was an obvious success. Brad left a plain clue when he left Ricki's drawing on his fridge after the FRC. That drawing went from Charlotte, to NYC to South Africa and back to Austin for full display to the viewing public as to who his F1 is . . . if the viewing public didn't get it our our expert sleuthers figured it out. I would dare say that if Emily is not his F1, that the other F1 would not be happy with Ricki's drawing being displayed in his kitchen.

I just don't see why Chantal would care about this. He isn't dating Ricki. She's a sweet little girl who gave Brad a drawing. He displayed it on his fridge - very likely a subtle shout out - to Ricki. I don't believe for a minute that Chantal has any problem with it. And to be perfectly honest, regardless of the way Chantal is being edited, I don't think she harbors one iota of animosity toward Emily. Not one iota. Whether Emily is F1 or not. I still think Chantal is F1 however.

that's pretty much what I'm seeing too. He seems almost nervous around Emily.. like he wants to treat her like he does the others but it's just not coming natural. It could be because he thinks she's beautiful and is intimidated just being around her... don't know... but he definitely is awkward around her, gets his words mixed up and last night didn't even know how to get out of her house. It's like he's in awe of her .... just like many of the viewers I guess BUT is that enough to base a relationship on? I can see a "case" being made for Emily being F1... not going to deny that... BUT when I see him with Chantal and how happy he is, how comfortable he is around her, how they just fit, they need to touch each other, hold hands, entwine arms and legs..... that's just seems more of a mutual meeting of the mind and body. They seem like a couple... whereas when he's around Emily it's more like him having a "celebrity" crush, so to speak.... fleeting but kind of enjoyable while it lasts.....

Totally agree with you, northernviewer, I see Brad with a crush on Emily -- like I had a crush on Steve McQueen when I was a young girl. What I see with Chantal is being totally at ease with someone. Their conversations show that they have had deeper conversations that have not been shown, like Ali and Roberto. In spite of Ali saying she wondered if she was good enough for Roberto, she still had very close contact with him, she was not in awe of him, like Brad appears to be.

The fact that Brad got to meet Chantal's family and found so many similarities with her father is a very good sign, I think he would benefit from having a father figure. Some have made comments about the father being so quick to accept Brad but, precisely because he cares for her so much, my guess is that he probably had a background check done on Brad and knows a whole lot more about him than Chantal does. I know I would if it were my child and I had the means to pay a private investigator.

Oh I agree they make an adorable couple and seem like a great match! I was thinking back to my feelings during Ali's season. It all worked out in the end though. A win win situation for all involved.

Just getting to post some of my thoughts for the day. Am I the only one that thought that the O'Brien family was just a bit too eager to marry Chantal off? I mean no reservations, no questioning, just "Yes, take her, PLEASE!" Dad says she's been ready for a while? Really? Did anybody catch the prom(?) pic still up on the mantle at the O'Brien house? Why was that still there, she's way older now, they are now divorced and a new man is coming to visit. Take the pic down! I'm beginning to think that Chantal was the pre-ordained falsely spoiled F-1 and Em is the true F1. I'm trying to think like tptb here. Would I run virtually the same story back to back with the rejected tragic back-story on the heels of a successful foiled spoiler campaign only to go back to the predictable? I don't think so. My faith is more in tptb to pull a fast one than it is in any of these relationships. JMO.

I thought the O'Briens acceptance of Brad signified that they trusted their adult daughter to make her own decisions and that they liked Brad, and probably had done some research on him, as they seemed to be well aware of his past

Regarding the 1st bold: ITA. Ali may have said she's "intimidated" by Roberto and while I bought the edit/act at the time, it's clear that all she wanted was him to be around her all the time. She wasn't intimidated, she was in love. Brad is literally intimidated and it's painful to watch.

Regarding the 2nd bold: I'm not Brad's biggest cheerleader after Roo Roo and Anguilla but I have to admit it tugged at my heartstrings to hear that Chantal always compares him to her Daddy. It's obvious how much love and trust there is with her Daddy so that fact that she compares Brad to this man speaks volumes. She just so obviously adores her father and clearly thinks he's the greatest, coolest Dad and man ever.

I can't think of one F2 or F3 person who hasn't nicely recovered and moved on with his or her life after this silly show is over. And even the hardcore fans eventually move on - especially if/when the favored one gets the next Bach/Bette gig or falls in love with someone else.

The F3 have all Vlogged and they all seem as though they are doing just fine to me. Even the initially most vilified couple of the show proved all the naysayers (including myself, admittedly) completely wrong and made it to the altar. If Chantal is Brad's F1 (and I believe she is) and they are really in love (and I take Brad and Chantal at their word that they are), then they too will weather the storm. And even if they don't make it more than 6 days, or 6 months or 6 years after the FRC, life will go on for everyone involved.

I just thought of something...considering how Chantal's dad took the time to show and explain the statue of the self-made man to Brd, he must know all about Brad's background and how he and his brothers built it all from the ground up. I loved the interaction between them, I thought Brad was going to get emotional from the hugs from dad. I also think her younger brother was looking at Brad with complete adoration already. They are going to have great relationships. Let's hope his mother (who did not impress me the first time around and I have real issues with all she put the boys through) is a good to Chantal. I know his brothers and their wives will be.
