I have no idea... that's why I was asking you people

Could be ... I always thought he could have left Em go at F4 and she still could have been the Bette. But after I heard him say that he didn't feel the way he should feel when Shawntel said ILY and that's why he sent her home I can't see him keeping her around as not to encourage her to keep saying it on the FD when he wasn't feeling that way.

I guess we will have to see how it goes next week with Ashley's FD but it could be the same type of situation where he just knows she is not the F1. And then we are left with Emily (the next bette) and Chantal (by process of elimination who Brad knows he loves)

At this point with Chantal saying the ILY Brad would have gotten rid of her to spare her feelings for not feeling the same way much like Shawntel. But he didn't because is probably feeling the same way. err hope that made sense... sounded better in my head.

That does make sense. He is obvious feeling it too. The camera cannot lie.

I think a couple of leads have said it was harder to let F3 go - I don't think it's been 'presumed' - I remember Deanna said it.

Of the minutes devoted to Emily's HTD, at least half were devoted to awkwardness, rather than ease.

We all know a little girl is going to need time to adapt to this strange arrangement of Mommy coming home, Mommy's friend Brad, and the scads of production/crew trailing them around pointing cameras at them.

So, why did they choose to devote so many minutes to ice breaking? They could have clipped those scenes, and emphasized the many hours they obviously spent being comfortable.

Same question about why the editors aired that horribly awkward scene on the couch.

In short, Emily's date could have been aired as a Five Star Fit, a New Family In the Making, but it wasn't. They left in massive doubt.

Maybe they are preparing the audience to understand her final exit, be it voluntary or involuntary.

Because if we saw the sort of "FIT" that Chantal's date screamed with Emily, then we as viewers wouldn't understand why Emily and Brad didn't end up together.

Same types of edit choices for Chantal's date. As presented, it screamed "PERFECT FIT" -- Brad gets a wife, 3 pets who adore him, a step dad who is like the father he always dreamed of but never had, etc. That's what we were shown.

They COULD have aired Brad dropping the football on every pass, and NOT fitting in. But that's not Chantal's story. He fits with her, but she's full of emotional highs and lows.

Right now, after last night’s show, I think it’s Chantal – the last two weeks I thought it was Emily. After next week’s show I could go back to Emily. That’s the beauty of not having a favourite, I can look at each show and watch the edit – not look for things I want to see that may not actually be there.

I hope this answers your question…..

Here is what I think of last night's show based on what I saw and the notes and charts I keep.

There is no way Emily wins. In fact, of the F4 Emily has received her rose twice 6 times which is reminiscent of Amanda F3 in Matt's season. If we didn't know from RS, I would have thought from the edit that Emily was the F3.

Next, if somebody can bring over the EP. 6 HT RC from Jake's season where we have Ali in the lineup, you will see that person for person, they are lined up alike with Chantal and Vienna - who was also called last - in the same spot.

Vienna, on a short season, was called last 4 times. Chantal, on a longer season, has been called last 3 times to date. Vienna was called last on the FD RC as well.
From last night's edit, it seemed to me that the producers are working very hard to convince us that Emily is the front runner, and that Chantal is constantly on the verge of elimination (much like they did with Vienna, who many viewers couldn't believe Jake kept week after week, when most pegged her from night one as an early dismissal). The only reason why I can imagine they would do that is if Emily is not F1, and Chantal is, because the average unspoiled fan (unlike we on this board) will then get the shock of their lives when Emily is first out of the limo at FRC.

FWIW last night my hubby watched the show with me for the first time this season. Right after Chantel's HTD he announced..."she is the one" I said how do you know. You haven't even seen the others. "He said I don't need to see the others...this is a done deal."

He asked "Am I right? Iis this who your sleuthers pick?" I laughed and said some of them...the jury is still out for others. He picked Roberto from only watching the HTD's last year too.

PS and he did not change his mind after seeing the other dates.

I get so confused when I read everyone's thoughts! Good job people!

The one and only thing that makes me think Emily is F1 after last night, are the Ricki's pictures on Brad's refrigerator. Not anything between Brad and Emily, I just don't see it. Not her into him and not him into her. I see he would like to be but I don't think it's there. But I can't discount the pictures. It is something solid, to me anyway. But Brad honey, if you don't like emotional highs and lows, watch out, because a 5 year old girl has a whole lot of them and they stick around for a long time.

I see the connection all the way around with Chantal. The only emotional lows I have seen with her are when he's dating other girls. Hopefully he stops that after he chooses one of them! The emotional highs I see from her all have to do with her feelings for Brad. She responds to both with tears, which is a normal human reaction to both. That is what tears are for, they are produced from our emotions, and as pretty as a crier she is, you can't fake the snotty tears!

So now I am just confused!
