I think it's a very strong possibility that they did allow her to stay in Charlotte - with a handler - what's the difference between there and NY - when she can spend a few days with Ricki?? From what she said to Brad, she did imply she'd be around for the week.

That is what I gathered too..that she knew she was staying around in Charlotte.

Something else just popped into my head. Somewhere (maybe in the SC thread), was discussion about Brad being so nervous around Emily and giving her the FD suite card. Could Brad also be nervous about giving it to her not neccessarily because of Emily herself, but because of what it will LOOK like. I remember the comment he made on some show (Leno?) about his grandmother coming and chewing him out if he did something wrong. Maybe Brad was just uncomfortable about the whole situation.

I actually interpreted her saying she wished Brad could stay in Charlotte differently; that if he stayed, then the date could continue and they could both stay there with Ricki, which would be a win-win for her. The only way I could imagine them breaking the rules for her is if it was part of wooing her to be the next lead (which we now suspect she isn't).

The difference is that in Charlotte, they would need to keep her locked in her house, because they don't want her to interact with any friends or family. I suppose it could be done, but it is easier to monitor her and control her activities if she is out of her home element. Just don't see why they would make it more difficult for themselves, when they haven't ever done it in the past, if they didn't have to. They're not just going to do it to be nice. JMO.

If I were Emily, I would give MF the impression that I would be interested in being TB'ette (whether true or not) to ensure good treatment - maybe she was advised by someone.

Brad was talking about all unsolicited blessings, and if I remember right, Chantal's dad was the only one shown.



Yes I do realize, I never said Brad said, I said this is something I read. I brought it over to make a point...but they are never gotten.

And actually, it may have been unsolicited - or it may not. We don't know what was discussed prior to Chantal's dad's statement. There is a possibilty that it was thrown together with the edit making it appear that Brad never asked for his blessing. If Chantal is F1, they want to keep us guessing till the end. Making it appear that Brad received his blessing unsolicited would contribute to that. Of course I'm not saying that did happen, but it certainly could.

You are right, and at that point in filming, Brad wouldn't have known what kind of edit Emily was going to get either.

I agree with this 100%. It was evident to us that Brad & Chantal's
father spent quite a bit of time talking. We will never know if Brad
asked for his blessing unless it is mentioned at the FRC, the ATFR or in media interviews that follow.
