When I read the article I had huge issues with it. They didn't talk or try to talk to anybody in Brad's camp. I have a hard time giving credence to any story that only has one person talking. Looks like they paid her $$$ for her story. Seems like a bitter ex angry that he moved on. BTW the only text he sent her after he began taping was innocent. He was wishing her a Happy Birthday. I don't think Brantal (or Bremily if that is our ending) has anything to worry about. I am sure Brad told Chantal/Emily (whoever is chosen) what was going on. I am going to keep approaching this thing with Brad and his choice and will leave Laurel in the past. BTW the entire final 6 are prettier than Laural as are Gia, Vienna and Ali. I think Wes H and Brad are both better off moving on away from her, and she is better off getting a clean break and moving on.
Ostensibly, TPTB knew 2 weeks ahead that her reveal would be published. Info is going to reveal that they were aware that she was going to do it and embraced it. I would like to know if they were also "in on it" because frankly at this point it would not surprise me. The ratings are low, and the show needs a definite spark. They were expecting the extremely popular ChrisL, and that didn't happen. They got Brad who has continued to do interviews and the show circuit throughout the season - something I can't remember any of the other leads doing. All of them usually do a frenzy of media for the first couple or three weeks and then a bunch at the end of filming.Originally Posted by jlccaz;4192243;
I mentioned this before and wonder why he is all over the place - do they really think after the first couple of weeks viewers are going to tune in that haven't already?
I haven't looked at the weekly ratings overall, so I don't know how they compare since the premiere - that would be interesting to know.
I too believe that MF is behind all the Laurel hype. We knew for a couple of weeks that something was coming out (from RS and Jeremy) and nothing stops the Fleissmachine once it's started.
First he is constantly promoting the show, and secondly he is on hand to do immediate damage control when adverse media items are released.
Third, he is constantly affirming the idea that he is in love and it is the real thing this time as opposed to his stint last time.
I also find it odd that he was booked for a GL taping just after the 6th episode has aired (which is an awkward time for him to be doing press) but it seemed conveniently placed with the tabloids scandal release..
Someone astutely mentioned that it was very timely that he was in such a "controlled interview" on the heels of the tabloid release. I too believe that ABC knew of the tabloid story coming out. In fact, I'd believe they endorsed it as well.
I think they knew about the Laurel thing too, but probably because she called Brad threatening him that she'd go to the press if he didn't come back to her, or some nonsense like that... he probably gave Fleiss and Co. the heads up so they had to set some plans in place for damage control. Yes Fleiss loves any kind of publicity, and as much as I'd like to think that he's involved in it... I think he just has a horseshoe up... well you know... and stuff like this just falls in his lap.
