I could possibly see a setup where it was planned for a Thanksgiving meeting in California and then a "leak" to fool someone like RS.

Assuming that her parents were going to that place anyway, why would a supposedly broken-hearted (or at least severely disappointed) Chantal have Brad and the girl who beat her out at their family Thanksgiving gathering?

ETA: I would think that such a meeting would have to be terribly awkward for Brad as well.

Me too. RS doesn't know if Chantal and Brad got engaged at the FRC right?

No, he doesn't know if they're engaged or not. I guess it's also questionable whether he knows it's Chantal F1 or not either...
