| Re: Replacement of judge Mary Murphy, please I agree with almost everything Tickety, except Tabitha and Napolean. They are terrible judges and good choreographers. Mary is a "tad" obnoxious, but her outbursts must have had good reviews (strange as that may seem) because they are becoming more and more frequent with each new season. I would like to see some new choreography from Mary.

| Re: Replacement of judge Mary Murphy, please I just wanted to mention that Mary will only be a rotating judge on SYTYCD Canada, not a permanent, every week judge...thank goodness! ![]()

| Re: Replacement of judge Mary Murphy, please I like Mary. I like her schtick. I like their 3-person panel (with one judge rotating). I get the sense that the judges all genuinely like each other and respect each other. In contrast, I don't get that sense from the American Idol 3-person panel... I think their respect for each other is luke warm and I think any "like" they have for each other is dollar driven and they wouldn't hang out if they could avoid it. On SYTYCD panel, like other 3-person panel format used for a lot of reality shows, the formula calls for each to stick to a certain personality. It's just part of the job. Thank goodness for fast-forward. I use it on the American Idol panel all the time. I could care less what they say. I cringe otherwise. On SYTYCD, I think the comments are much more genuine and helpful (even through the schtick) and I listen the entire time. I get that some people don't like Mary's screaming - I think it is funny. So, I guess this kind of thing is more of an individual taste sort of thing - but what wins me over is that for the most part, the judges on SYTYCD often say something useful. Annika |

| Re: Replacement of judge Mary Murphy, please The thing about Schtick is that you have to be careful not to become a caricature of yourself ... and after 4 seasons of this, Mary has. It was Schtick 2 seasons ago. Now it's just annoyance. One other thing ... compare ANYONE to the judging panel of AI , and you'll get a favorable comparison. Two of their judges are clueless and worthless - the other would only need 2 panels if they were judging from 0-10 --- a zero and a ten --- there's no in between.

I know that some who like her mention her choreography and critiquing skills in a positive way, but her persona is so reprehensible that many of us will never know or care about her alleged talent. If she's on my TV screen, I am inspired to turn it off--no remote button is fast enough. And one way to not have to use the energy to push a button is to not even watch that show (LOL). I shudder even thinking about her, but am grateful there's a place to vent about it. And it's great to know that "it's not just me". Whew!

![]() If they would only show the judges on-screen during the judging, I could FF through the Mary debacle. Or if they would only turn her mic on during the judging... If someone wants a chuckle some time, Google "Mary Murphy" "annoying". There are way too many links that come up...we can't all be wrong. ![]()

| Re: Replacement of judge Mary Murphy, please OK, really not trying to be catty here because in all honesty, I can only take so much of Mary Murphy myself, BUT it's really easy to call the cable company and get a DVR. Then you can watch the AMAZING dances and fast forward through Mary's screaming and "hot tamale train" jibberish! Some nights, that's the only way I can get through the show. |

| Re: Replacement of judge Mary Murphy, please Some people prefer to watch their favorite shows when they are live - this is the only way our "vote" for our shows gets counted. Tivo or DVR viewing is not tracked and doesn't count towards ratings. And ratings are what keeps our favorite shows on the air.

![]() Despite all the modern technology, it really says something when someone (i.e., me) won't even tolerate that show whilst MM is a part of it.
