I still wonder if Ashley and Alex didn't leave because of injury what the real final 3 would have been. However, you have to physically make it through the tough competition, so injury is a legit way out of a competition.
My dd was in competitive gymnastics years ago and stopped after a bad shoulder injury. I ran into a dad whose dd dropped out after a really bad knee injury. He made a funny observation that maybe the olympic level girls were just the last ones standing - lol.
At least all 3 were true, real talented dancers. I would have hated to see Jose in the top 3. Even my dd who hardly watched and didn't know one from the other could see the enormous difference between him and Dominic when they danced together.
I think it was only a surprise as it seemed like Kent had it in the bag. But Lauren was also appealing to the voting block of tweens - she appealed to them with her youthful mannerisms, and her sexy dancing stuff wasn't threatening and man eating - like a few of the ballroom girls had been over the years.
