    SYTYCD 11 Pool

So You Think You Can Dance
Season Premiere WED 8/7c MAY 28

I will be running a pool for the show again this season. It's too early to post pool details yet since the contestants haven't been revealed but I wanted to get the pool thread started anyway. I'll let you know scoring details, the registration deadline, and the choices for your pool team when the cast is revealed.

What will the pool be based off of? This show is a great show and might be up my alley.

Once the contestants are revealed (the top 20 or however it may be, after auditions are over), you'll get to pick a few contestants to be in your pool team. It's usually one girl and one guy to earn double points for you, an additional two guys and girls to earn regular points, and one reserve girl and guy to be put into play when you lose your first dancer. They earn points by making it through another week on the show and lose points for being in the bottom 2/3 or eliminated.

You can look at last year's SYTYCD thread to get a feel for how it runs.

Looking forward to this pool once again

Personally I find these humane mouse traps rather ineffective. Better to lay down some glue and when you hear the critter scream you take a shovel to his head.

Hi, Everyone. I'm a long time reader, but haven't posted before. I follow both DWTS and SYTYCD and the pools look like so much fun. May I play? If so, I'd like to call my team The Fosse Posse. Looking forward to a wonderful season.

Welcome, Allisongors! You may certainly join the pool. The more the merrier!

I love So You Think You Can Dance and can't wait for the top contestants to be chosen so we can start seeing them dance together! Every season the routines and contestants get better and better so I'm looking forward to it.

Not ready to make my team selections yet, but my team name will be Gower's Champions.

    Re: SYTYCD 11 Pool

Now that the Top 20 has been announced, we can start picking pool teams! Here are the contestants you have to choose from:

    Female Contestants
Bridget Whitman 20 Phoenix, Arizona Contemporary
Brooklyn Fullmer 18 Provo, Utah Latin Ballroom
Carly Blaney 19 Wyckoff, New Jersey Contemporary
Emily James 21 North Kingstown, Rhode Island Contemporary
Jacque LaWarne 18 Clive, Iowa Ballet
Jessica Richens 18 Yorba Linda, California Jazz
Jourdan Epstein 24 Plymouth, Minnesota Ballet
Malene Ostergaard 25 Los Angeles, California Latin Ballroom
Tanisha Belnap 20 Payson, Utah Ballroom
Valerie Rockey 20 Indianapolis, Indiana Tap

    Male Contestants
Casey Askew 19 Seattle, Washington Contemporary
Emilio Dosal 23 Houston, Texas Hip-Hop / Popping
Marcquet Hill 18 South Jordan, Utah Latin Ballroom
Nick Garcia 18 Miami, Florida Latin Ballroom
Ricky Ubeda 18 Miami, Florida Contemporary
Rudy Abreu 19 Miami, Florida Contemporary
Serge Onik 26 Upper Saddle River, New Jersey Latin Ballroom
Stanley Glover 19 Chicago, Illinois Contemporary
Teddy Coffey 19 Rochester, New York Hip-Hop / Tap
Zack Everhart 20 Kennesaw, Georgia Tap

To register for the pool, you’ll need to do the following:

1.) Choose a name for your dance troupe.
This is what you’ll call your dance team.
2.) Choose one girl and one guy to be your primary dancers.
They’ll earn double points for you.
3.) Choose another two girls and two guys to be your secondary dancers.
They’ll earn single points for you.
    4.) Choose a back-up girl and guy.
When one of your other dancers is eliminated, your back-up dancer will be brought in to replace them. However, a female back-up dancer can only be used to replace a female primary or secondary dancer. Likewise, a male back-up dancer can only be used to replace a male primary or secondary dancer. Back-up dancers will not earn double points if they’re replacing a primary dancer.

Here’s how your troupe will earn points for you.

    Weekly points
+10 points: Each week in competition
    Judgement points
-5 points: Low scores/ chosen to dance for their life
    -10 points: Eliminated
0 points: Out due to injury/family emergency
    Milestone points
+10 points: Danced with an all-star
+10 points: Made it to viewer voting rounds
+10 points: Made it to final ten
+10 points: Made it to finals
    Season Finale points
    +30 points: Season 10 Winner
    +15 points: Runner-up
    ***

The deadline to sign up for the pool and have your picks in is Wednesday, July 9th before the show airs that night. I'll let you see the dancers perform together for the first time next week before you have to submit your pool teams.

BTW, the color scheme for our scoresheet this season is coffee colors, with the overall scoreboard in teal and black. Just for your info.
