I still wonder if Ashley and Alex didn't leave because of injury what the real final 3 would have been. However, you have to physically make it through the tough competition, so injury is a legit way out of a competition.

My dd was in competitive gymnastics years ago and stopped after a bad shoulder injury. I ran into a dad whose dd dropped out after a really bad knee injury. He made a funny observation that maybe the olympic level girls were just the last ones standing - lol.

At least all 3 were true, real talented dancers. I would have hated to see Jose in the top 3. Even my dd who hardly watched and didn't know one from the other could see the enormous difference between him and Dominic when they danced together.

I think it was only a surprise as it seemed like Kent had it in the bag. But Lauren was also appealing to the voting block of tweens - she appealed to them with her youthful mannerisms, and her sexy dancing stuff wasn't threatening and man eating - like a few of the ballroom girls had been over the years.

I think that's what happened because many people kept saying Kent "had it in the bag" because the judges wanted him to win and because he was so popular. Many on other groups/lists were convinced Lauren couldn't beat him so either her fans voted like crazy or she got a lot of Chike's votes.

Someone on an American Idol list told me he voted "thousands of times" and he expained power voting to me, but I really didn't understand it. Plus I had heard on one of the shows (AGT, I think) that only ten of your votes would count. I do remember Cat saying that you could vote as many times as you like on SYTYCD and I think that really needs to be changed to limit each voter to 10 like AGT.

The rumor is that for the first hour, ALL of Kent's votes went to Lauren!
This kind of thing is par for the course. Last year when Kris Allen won American Idol over Adam Lambert, the same kind of rumor went around. Here's a copy of one.

" I heard from like 4 different people that they saw if television that
    > Kris Allens title is being revoked due to a voting error, and that
    > Adam really won, does anyone else know anything about this?"

    Sour grapes

I think she won because she was the last female standing and I am sure even though the fans "vote" picks the "winner", I am sure Nigel and Adam picked her.
Whoa! That's a very strange thing to say considering the choreographers are the ones that dictate how a dancer performs a routine and their costumes are chosen for them by the costume department. I doubt she brought those "barely there" clothes with her any more than Robert and Billy brought those Bollywood clothes with them to the show.

Cristina's Latin dance was also very "sexy" but that's the nature of the dance; plus she was voted out so if your theory is correct, then Cristina should have gotten further ahead to reward her for her hip shaking. She was every bit as sexy as Lauren.

It's one thing to prefer one dancer over another or one type of dance over another but, you can't fault them for doing exactly what they are told to do in their performance and wearing what's chosen for them.

DWTS also dress their dancers in skimpy outfits as do all the ice skating shows so, while you do have a point that the costumes are too skimpy, I think it unfair to single out one particular performer. Rather, all the dancing and skating shows should be asked to tone it down a bit. It's probably costume designers all trying to outdo each other that's the cause of the issue and not the performers.

As for the wardrobe malfunction, why would you put that word in quotes unless you thought it was planned to influance the judges? You really think Nigel and Adam are interested in Lauren's sexuality? I could've sworn they're both gay.

Actually Lauren's first routine was chosen by her when she first tried out and got an immediate "to Vegas" ticket, so no question in my mind, she used her sexuality to get the votes and she danced to "lets get it on". Actually one of the judges noted how they were in awe in her sexiness, Adam loved her seductive dance and it was very sexy.... Why do you the choregraphers made her dance all the "sexy" numbers, in essence, wear the sexy costumes. Christina's dance routines were very sexy but that was her style, and I believe she is a bit older than Lauren. Lauren came out gyrating on the floor, sticking her butt in the air....what do you think men will remember the most? The girl who dances with class or the one gyrating on the floor sticking her butt in her air. As far as Nigel and Adam go, Nigel is not gay, and Adam, who knows...he has been photographed with Miley Cyrus doing a lap dance so to me I think he swings both ways...and yep, I believe they both looked like two horny men in a strip club whenever she came on. So gross...I could not watch their interactions with her any longer. I also found so weird that it was Nigel that went to her home to break the news to her she made it....because he has the hots for her....and the wardrobe malfunction that almost cost her boob to be revealed happened to her....mmmmmmmmmm.... And you can say no to things in life if it is out of your character. She did nothing for me, that's my opinion.

I will agree that costumes are getting too skimpy but, that can also be said of the performers on DWTS, the national dance shows I see on PBS and on every ice show I've ever seen. That's because the costume designers are in competition with each other the same way cheographers are in competition with each other. They want their costumes to be noticed. They all need to tone down IMO but, unfortunately, I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.

Yes, the performer can say "no" to a costume or to choreography they don't feel comfortable with, but if you're young and easily influanced on top of not wanting to rock the boat or mess up your chances of winning, you do what the "experts" tell you to do.

The guys she danced with were being "sexy" too and often, we'll hear a judge tell the men they didn't shake/move their hips enough, because that's what's needed in certain dances so it's not just the women being sexy, it's both men and women. More power to 'em I say.

I'd rather watch a sexy dance than krumping or popping. Those are the ones I find gross. To each his/her own eh?

Not only that, but I believe there is a difference in sexy and skanky, and Lauren's dances were never the latter. As others have said before, the nature of many dances (esp. the Latin ones) are always meant to be sexy. Should we just outlaw them? That's ridiculous!

When Adam Lambert did his outrageous performance on the AMA show, a big controversy was unleashed and people were arguing about that and about Lady GaGa and the way she performs. People were having trouble explaining what they meant so, after a lot of back and forth, it finally dawned on me that it's the difference between showing "sensuality" as opposed to "sexuality". One is artistic and the other, if taken too far, can verge on porn.

No flaming from me but I will add my perspective of your post...

"barely there clothes" ? chosen by the wardrobe dept... typically in conjunction with the choreographer.
"alot (sic) of hip shaking" ? choreographed by the choreographer
"her wardrobe "malfunction"" ? just that, a malfunction that she surely did not plan since, well, costumes are chosen for them.

Sounds to me as if you disliked Lauren from the outset (your remarks about how you feel she got to Vegas bear this out), continued to dislike her throughout the competition and are unhappy she won.

Personally I find these humane mouse traps rather ineffective. Better to lay down some glue and when you hear the critter scream you take a shovel to his head.

What's amusing to me is that I'll read on different mbs that "The judges obviously want Billy to win". Then "The judges obviously want Kent to win" and finally, although it wasn't said outright, but was alluded to, "The judges obviously wanted Lauren to win".
