    Re: Season 4 Spoiler Thread

Just got back from taping of the show to air this wednesday. Mia was the 3rd judge. At least two ballroom numbers a contemporary from Mandy Moore and several different hip-hop choreographers. I'll have to go through my notes to see who was favored. I guess one of the best parts was Nigel "krumping", doubt if that will show up on wednesday's show!?

    Judges' Reactions:

    QUOTE

    thayne & chelsea t. - jazz - mandy moore
the judges said they were not in characters,
and there wasnt anything very positive in the critiques.
nigel said the costumes were horrible.

william & jessica - hip hop - cicily & olisa
judges pimped william HARDCORE, and jessica got
    negative critiques.

mark & chelsie - argentine tango - alex de silva
from what i remember, judges agreed.
    more pimping on mark's end.

matt & kourtni - fox trot - jean marc
i remember nigel saying both of their faces are fake
when they smile in a dance like this. (which is BS, haha).
mia said positive things about matt, negative about kourtni.

gev & courtney - contemporary - mandy moore
mia said something that keeps sticking out of my mind,
cuz i thought the same thing. she said that courtney danced
it with a "jazz" style and not a "contemporary" style. her lines
were more sharp and "jazz-styled" rather than the lyrical contemp.
style mandy moore tried to go for.

joshua & katee - broadway - tyce diorio
    STANDING OVATION from
    everyone and judges.
judges say ALL positive things, it was a bit loud so it
was hard to hear, but joshua got a lot of pimping.

marquis & susie - salsa - alex de silva
judges keep saying, susie this was her style.
    they expected more.
marquis was a thumbs down as well.
the technique wasn't there with him.

twitch & kherington - viennese waltz - jean marc
ahhh, another VERY sad story in pre-tape package.
    this dance is VERY emotional
good praises from all judges except mia said kherington shouldn't
have smiled her whole way through, and kept bringing up the
differences of smiling & reality. (dont agree with mia)
mary tears up (of course) and praises both dancers.

    chris & comfort - crump - lil c
all judges say comfort needed to shine more.
and chris kept up alright. but not good enough.

    Personal Opinions:

    QUOTE
***MY OPINIONS / WHAT I REMEMBER OF JUDGES SAYING***
(Also, i dont remember the order exactly. JUST THE FIRST AND LAST ARE FOR SURE!)

    thayne & chelsea t. - jazz - mandy moore
interesting concept (king & forbidden love). is going to look good on TV.
on stage & live it was lacking a bit.
cool choreo, hopefully on TV it will look good.
i would say, they are still safe.

william & jessica - hip hop - cicily & olisa
i know yall. DONT get me started on this cicily & olisa deal.
i really dont enjoy their choreo.
biases aside, william worked it, jessica kept up i thought,
but definitely could of been way better on jessicas end.
i would say, BOTTOM 3. (JESSICA IN DANGER)

mark & chelsie - argentine tango - alex de silva
lovelovelove them. IMO, chelsie has a little bit more
growing room with her dancing. she's still young, but
theres definitely no question, she is very talented.
uhhh, didnt see this one coming. they were very good.
    technique was pretty on point.
    i would say, SAFE!

matt & kourtni - fox trot - jean marc
i was so stoked for this. was expecting alot.
they looked stunning as a pair, with their hair-doo and all.
i thought they danced it really well, and had great
showmanship. i thought it was very good.
im iffy on this one. just because last week, IMO, SAFE!

gev & courtney - contemporary - mandy moore
woooow. gev surprised me. other than the little details
you probably wont be able to see on tv, like pointing his
toes... he was so good. courtney, i thought could of done
better, as this was her style of dance. other then that, it
was a beautiful piece and they both did it justice.
    they should be SAFE.

joshua & katee - broadway - tyce diorio
one of the bests of the night. they are surprising me like crazy.
dance with so much heart, soul, and spirit. not only talent,
but their everything is shown through dancing. they did
phenomenal and prove it week after week.
    safe FORRR SUREEEE!

marquis & susie - salsa - alex de silva
hahah all you susie haters, it is your day!
susie being a "latin" dancer, this was her style.
from the beginning in the pre-taped package, you see
her crying and stressing out about how this piece is "hard".
and seriously, this was her time to shine. did she?
    unfortunately not.
we better be seeing them in the BOTTOM.

twitch & kherington - viennese waltz - jean marc
for jean marc, and you can
see him tearing up in the pre-tape package. i wont tell you
everything about this, but it was VERY touching.
twitch and kherington danced it BEAUTIFULLY, and the technique,
IMO was ALLLL THERE. they danced it with their heart, and
twitch and kherington seemed pretty comfortable dancing the piece.

    chris & comfort - crump - lil c
oh was it expecting HUGE things with this piece?
all i gotta say is, dont expect big things with this, because
to be quite honest, it SUCKED. and i wont lie, krump looks
good with hard beating songs, and this is a song thats kinda
not your "typical" krump song. haha. comfort should of
killed it and she didnt, yes laugh your butts off about chris.
he's that white boy, but he kept up IMO.
even though you all say "pimp spot" blah blah,
they are one couple who should hit bottom on thurs.

    Re: Season 4 Spoiler Thread

I hate Krumping. I am not looking forward to that routine AT ALL. But at least it's the so-called best female hip hopper "we've ever had" doing it. Maybe we will finally get to see why they say that about her.

Marquis & Susie - Salsa - Alex de Silva - She should KILL it on this and hopefully stop some of the nay sayers.

Twitch & Kherington - Viennese Waltz - Jean Marc ("A New Day" by Celine Dion) That should be interesting. I'm a little nervous for him and hope he can pull it off.

Gev & Courtney - Contemporary - Mandy Moore ("Lost" by Anouk)

Matt & Kourtni - Fox Trot - Jean Marc - Two giant people doing the fox trot, yeah that's not a train wreck in the making /sarcasm

So glad Joshua is doing so well....he's been a favorite of mine from the auditions...keep it up! Can't wait to actually watch tomorrow. I'm finding I'm a little bummed there's no Mia choreography though

I would say the comtemporary and broadway pieces were the best. In person the "twitchington" waltz was just ok, not great.

Standing up on the front row of the stage you could see all the missteps, slips and misses. You most likely will not see that the way they film it.

Cat D is so thin, if she turns sideways she'll disappear!

Watching it live you get a much better feel for how the crowd likes each number, there were a couple where is was so quiet, it was embarassing.

Got in line at 1pm and didn't get out until 7 ish. It is a looong time to be standing in place. My teens said they enjoyed it, but wouldn't do it again because it was too long to stand. Ah youth, it is wasted on the young!

Can you tell us which ones got the most audience reaction and which got the worst? I'd like to match it up to what we see at home and see how much the camera angle and editing changes perception of the dance.

I'm so glad Joshua and Katee did well! They have been my favorite couple based on last week, and I'm glad they're still going strong. Joshua is a great dancer, and I think Katee is equally as great! I'm glad Katee is doing well ever since the judges totally twisted the situation on her saying she wouldn't audition again during Vegas week. That was totally unfair, and I'm happy she's overcoming the negitivity and shinging.

Susie can't hold her own in her own style of dance... DOES NOT SURPRISE ME! I really want her to go home, but with her already made fan base, I'm not sure that is really going to happen no matter how bad she dances. With the support of ESPN, the pro-cheeleading circuit, and her students, she might not go anywhere for a while. It just sort of sucks because she really isn't successul based on her dancing, but more so on the amount of people she was connected to prior to being on the show. Susie needs to go!

I cannot wait until Wednesday night!

I would have to see it first to believe that since it just someone's opinion. I was reading the board last week about how awful she was doing and then I saw the show and discovered she danced lovely.
