8/12 Finale Results Show discussion *Spoilers*

...What happened to Kent at the end. He wasn't on stage at the VERY end, I find that odd........ I always thought there was chemistry with those two...

Kent was there. When Lauren's name was announced he stepped back, then went in and hugged Lauren. An assoicate producer came out and gave him flowers, and then escorted him off the stage as Cat asked Lauren if she had anything to say. The rest of the finalists then ran over to Lauren, followed by Kent back out on stage. Robert, I think, tried to get to Lauren, then when he realized that she was mobbed, he saw Kent and ran over to him and picked him up and swung him around. (You can see them in the last wide shot, before the close-up of Lauren that ends the show.)

I hate that every year they wait until the last 60 secconds of the show to announce the winner, so there is never enough time to savor the moment.

I am just watching now. I have to say I was totally tickled with the Top Three this season I started out an Alex fan but when I had to switch, I loved Kent. When the girls started dropping like flies I noticed Lauren and became a huge fan! I was so worried Lauren would go home too and said so. I remember Krom's caution to me at the time: VOTE for her then!

I had planned to voted for 2 hours last night (only other time I did that was for Katee) but after 50 minutes and always getting the busy signal except for 10 times, I figured the phones were so busy because so many were trying to vote for her, OR I would only get in another 20 or so votes in the remaining time, which would not make a difference one way or the other....so I stopped.

Although I would have been happy with Kent winning, I am so happy the phones were busy because so many were voting for Lauren!

I thoroughly enjoyed this season and hope we get to see Alex next time 'round.

I am so excited about Lauren winning!

Alex and Lauren have been my favorites since the beginning....I haven't liked anyone as much since Joshua and Katee.

Our first reprise is Kent and Neil doing Shoeless Joe from Damn Yankees by Tyce. (Kent almost doesn't clear that last flip.)

I missed the opening number and didn't tune in until the "shoeless joe" number. Was AdeC in the opening number? Did I miss anything else? Thanks

Tyce's favorite number this season is also from Tabitha and Napoleon: Scars with Robert and Dominic as Hip Hop angry clowns.

Am I the only one that didn't like the clown routine?

From what I can tell, everyone was in the opening number. After that, there were short humorous clips of Adam, Nigel, and Mia. Then they did a recap of last night's performances. So the only thing of value that you missed was the opening number.

I keep hearing about the tween votes on more than one board, but honestly I have a daughter who is in that age group and while she loved both Kent and Lauren at first, but she had me voting for Lauren over the last few weeks. I know most of the girls on her dance team were also supporting her...

Yet, my mother who is not a tween by any means loved Kent with his 'boyish charm.' She loved the 'wholesome' look and all, I remember her also liking Carrie Underwood on Idol for the same reasons.

I think sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to the results and it's easily blamed on the tweens.

Kent was my favorite but I had no problem with Lauren winning. Loved them both.

I wish they would have featured one of Ashley's numbers--even if only on tape as they did Alex. I really liked her and she was the only other girl for quite a while. Aside from that, I have no complaints about the show.

Nope. I hated it too. I recall in fact railing on it quite a bit the first time it aired.

Hip-hop routines are supposed to be one of the few kinds of dance inured from being pretentious. But this somehow managed to be pretentious.

I liked both Kent and Lauren with a nudge going to Kent. I think Lauren wanted the title more judging by her interviews it just seemed that was something important to her. I never got that impression from Kent- he seemed just genuinely happy to be there for however long he was there. I'm happy for Lauren. I totally expected them to redo the Prom dance right before the results were read. Both Kent and Lauren said it was their favorite of the season and the audience went wild over it, so that kind-of surprised me.

Even though Cat said she didn't know what was on the card when Robert was eliminated, do you think maybe she did when she made her comment about his "farewell costume" or something to that effect? Maybe she was just assuming the same thing the rest of us were- that he would take 3rd place. Hmmm...makes you wonder...
